Default Women superheroes

http://www.unheardtaunts.com/wir/women.html

I thought this was interesting when I found it today, especially in light of the sexually charged beatdown that Tigra got in the pages of New Avengers the past month. It's a list started by Gail Simone of female superheroes that have been either raped, killed, or depowered over the course of their careers.

The list would be longer, but there's not a lot of female superheroes to begin with...

my girl starfire is still going strong. at least I think so, she isnt mentioned here.

but very interesting nonetheless. do comic writers have something against women?

I think its a very psycological thing, you know dealing with the subconscious.

thats about as deep as Ill get.

Another thing that jumps out at you when you go through these sort of lists tho, is the naming conventions of female characters. Which is somewhat upfront in the Rucka book. Montoya is taking over a traditionally male character. And she was in love with BatWoman, which is trading in on the Batman ethos.
