OK - the cat was meowing loudly at the door last night and making other strange noises. Whats that about? Wants out? boyfriend? I can't let it out right?

Anyone feel free to tell me to read a god damned book.

Are you running Adblock or anything like that,, you might have f*cked up the settings, I did once and it only seemed to affect Fanhost :/

Re Guinness making weird noises, they do that if they are unsettled. When we went to the US for three weeks our usual cat sitter was also on vacation so we had to put Mouse (our cat) into one of those cat hotels. When we brought her home she spent 24 hours pacing round the house making the weirdest noises, and she's not a very vocal cat at all.

She soon settled down though, hopefully Guinness will too

You said it had been wandering the streets right? And now it's locked inside? Could just be unsettled, it's had the whole world available to it and now it's in prison. Do you have a backyard it can wander around in or play in with people around?

The cat, which has thus far not shown me much in the way of affection, decided to climb on my chest at 3am and lick my arms and face. When I tried to pet her, she fled.

If you didn't follow Flute's advice maybe she was trying to work out if you were food. No one likes their meal to try and pat them.
