Default Breaks, bumps and cuts...

Tell us about your war wounds!

I have a few scars:

1) My forehead, vertical scar about half an inch. Taking part in a drama class my head ended up making contact with a table top not fixed to its legs probably when I was about 13 - ouch! Needed stitches.

2) Side of my face - very small scar from when I was about 6 and a boy who liked me decided to show his affection (according to his mother) by smacking me around the head with his football boots. How I love boys....

3) Very cool scar under my chin from when I was about 7 and wanted to be a stunt biker and rigged up an plank on 3 bricks, rode my Raleigh Golden Arrow at it at high speed and then was rather surprised that it collapsed instantly and I went over the handlebars.

Bumps:

Just been knocked out once, playing hockey at secondary school. Very dramatically trying to save a goal even though I wasn't goal keeper. I saved it (YaY me!!) but the back of my head also found the goalpost and I was out for the count. I came to to the sound of my silly sports teacher shouting at me to get up. Doofus.

Breaks:

1) Broke my left arm falling off the top bunk when I was maybe 9... dad said it would be OK in the morning but it wasn't :( Hurt lots and I couldn't go out at playtime for ages.

2) Broke my right thumb playing basketball while drunk at university. Didn't have to sit my second year exams though

Something tells me we in this forum like a lil bit of rough and tumble - so let's hear about yours!

Most of my damage I just got this summer from a biking accident. Hooray for fake teeth.

scars:
most of my scras are on my knees and one is really ugly and huge.I was maybe 8 years old and I was jumping up and down the sidewalk and then..you can probably imagine what then.

bumps:
I had a huge bump on my forehead and itīs a very funny story how I got that bump.
we were skiing and for some stupid reason I closed my eyes, while still skiing and then I bounced on the snow groomer, which stood next to the ski-run!It was so painful but afterwards really funny.

breaks.
I broke my little toe once.

My injuries, such as they are, are very unglamorous in comparison to those above, as you can see...

I knocked my front tooth out as a kid but thankfully it was only a baby tooth and was soon replaced.
At about 14 I tripped over and smacked my nose, it was only much later that I realized it was broken, as there was no blood at the time.

So when I was about 30 I got it fixed... far more painful than breaking it the first time was my post surgery recovery and more hideous; a silence of the lambs type mask, topped by 2 shinning black eyes. But at lease the scaring is all internal.

My other brush with the medical sewing kit is perhaps best left to the imagination... Op, Hoot, Bay... I think you can probably guess.

OMG. The imagery is great. Jo in the mask, poor kiddie screaming and clinging to daddy.

I didn't scar or break anything major as a kid, although I was fearless, I guess I was just more coordinated than all of you people. lol.

About 2 years ago I ripped my hand and my index finger open and had 46 stitches.

You have the scene about right, Op...

But 46 stitches, heck that's a lot! How did you damage your hand so badly?

It's hard to explain, but basically I ripped it open on one of those spears that adorn the tops of some back iron gates. Like this one -

Strangly it really didn't hurt, I heard a rip then turned my hand over and saw the carnage.

Oh Man ^
I had a wart removed from my right big toe with a little tiny sharp looking hockey stick. The Doc put it in a Petrie Dish. When he left the room I picked it up. It stuck to my finger like a snot, I flicked it in horror, an it stuck to the wall.
I paid the Copay an bolted.

^ f'n disgusting broad!

I thought I was Wonder Woman as a kid. I jumped off a playground rocket ship thing when I was about 4 and had 32 stitches in my chin and mouth combined.

At 9 I thought it would be cool to have my brother pull me on his bike while I was on roller skates. He was going too fast, so in typical Bay fashion, I let go and went FLYING down the street and scraped my face up pretty good. It was great to go to school the next day with scabs all down my face.

^ Ouch Ophelia! But that's nothing compared to at senior school a boy I knew ripped one of his testicles off climbing over a fence like that. Thank your lucky stars you are of the female variety.

Scars:
- A dog bit me so I have a small scar on my left arm.
- A horse kicked me in the face once, so I have a (tiny) scar on my upper lip (I also have a fear of horses).
- I have a scar on my left knee from when I was about 8 and fell off my bike. I fell off it twice, at the exact same place, about an hour apart. Hit the same knee again.
- I have several scars on my fingers from cuts and whatnot.

Breaks:
- I broke my pinky finger once.

True Dat. The lesson here is. NEVER attempt to climb over a fense/gate like that. It could be much MUCH worse. Like losing a testicle worse.

Scars
A scar about an inch long across my right wrist. It looks like a suicide attempt but was actually from running into a wire fence while messing around.
Another scar about an inch long again on my right wrist, again looks like a missed suicide attempt. I don't remember how I actually got it.
Scar on my left forearm, don't know how I got that either.
A scar on my right palm from where a dog bit me.
A burn mark on the back of my right hand where I touched a very hot theatre light.
My right hand and wrist seems to have taken a battering.
Scars on my left shoulder when I thought self mutilation would be productive.
Scar on my right thigh where I was bitten by a dog...same dog that bit my hand.
Scar on my right little toe from when I threw down garden shears and missed the ground.
Two massive scars on my knee where I had a knee reconstruction done. I watched the surgery, it was very cool.

Bumps
Never knocked myself out. Winded myself once playing sport. Hit the ground a lot playing sport.

Breaks
No broken bones. I have snapped the cruciate ligaments in both knees, one netball one basketball injury. Hence the knee surgery, and I then went on to snap the artificial ligament that had been put in.

Oh man, I just burned my entire face. Now I look like the bastard child of Anakin Skywalker and Wade Wilson.
