Default I need a drink

I could have put this in Whatever, but Missy wants the post count.

I need a drink and I have nothing in the house so I have to go and buy something. Here's my current tossing up choices, a bottle of red, a bottle of white, some Jack and coke, or some beer. I'm not really in a beer mood, want that's alcohol hit so the Jack is currently topping the list.

Hmmm....... Depends what you're having for dinner or snacks with the grog. See, if your mostly gonna be snacking tonight, nuts crisps etc, then you want your Jack and Coke. Also, if you buy a bottle of Jack, you wont have to make this decision again too soon since you'll have some left in the bottle unless you have a drinking problem or uni-aged friends coming over. But you mentioned Chinese earlier, so the White Wine would go well with that.
Alternatively, buy a cheap-ish bottle of White to go with dinner, and invest in the Jack as well so that you can enjoy a tipple later in the evening.

If I buy a bottle of straight bourbon it's only ever Wild Turkey. That stuff's just too good to mix with coke so I buy the pre-mix.

Now the white wine with dinner and then the Jack sounds good. I've got nothing on here tonight. It's either TV or FH. Jack goes well with both.

Yep, see you've gotta go both.

Now El Capitain is calling to me, though. All this alcohol talk, making me thirsty.

OK, both it is. I will go now and buy alcohol, but I will return in a bit to consume it.

So, what's with the 12 noon rule? My wife's ex-husband used to sit at the kitchen table at 11:30 on the weekends with a can of beer in his hands. He would not open it until noon though because if he opened it early he was an alcoholic..what an ass

I dunno. Social etiquette says you should wait to have a drink til after noon. But...if your sitting there watching the clock tick, then it probably doesn't really matter at that point.

Does Champagne count? Any decent ritzy like breakfast must be accompanied by Champagne. And you'd be a bum if you didn't eat breakfast before 11am.......
Mmmmmm............ Delicious French toast covered in strawberries and honey with a glass of Champagne .......... Is 12:20am early enough for it to count as breakfast?

Yes, it seems things like champagne, mimosa's and Bloody Mary's are fine to drink in the morning.

I don't drink because I'm Buddhist and try to follow it' s teachings as closely as possible. Not really.

I don't drink for a laundry list of those "bad experiences that probably wouldn't ever happen to me" occurring within my circle of friends. However, beyond even that thought-process I've just never been interested in the near-immediate dropping of all mental blocks, nor the wall to wall shoulder bounce a lot of my friends routinely do after a few shots. Just looks unpleasant to me I guess, but to each their own.

Isn't Champagne just a form of grape juice? There's nothing wrong with juice in the morning.

Modern times, Buddhist today don't practice it closely. Some choose to drink in moderation, like me . But the teachings aren't enforced like Christianity. And my will is good, so drinks up, ladies.

See, right there. That's the kind of lateral thinking that gets you places, Blackmask.

Where could it get me. It could get me drunk in the morning. Then it could get me to lose my license on the way to work. If I managed to get to work it could get me sacked. That would then free me up for a nice long lunch break. Wow, you're right, it could get me to the pub for lunch.
