I like petunias also. They are easy to grow and take little care. I have the planters on the front porch filled with them. Unfortunately I have no way of getting a picture of them from my camera obscura onto the internet. |

Rabbits ate my hollyhocks this year, probably because them couldn't get to the tomatoes. I replanted about half the iris since I had lost them due to overwatering. If anyone in the US is interested, this site has a very extensive selection: http://www.schreinersgardens.com/ |

I sorta failed with my 1st time garden . I got too excited and planted way to much in the area. My carrots looked like old man toes. But they were tasty. Loved my cherry tomatoes. The rabbits ate my corn . My stringbeans were way to stringy. My lettuce kicked azz. |

I can't seem to find it so I'm going to post the following pictures here. These are obviously not pictures of my garden. We have been having a very colorful fall. The first picture is that of a sugar maple I had planted in the circle at the end of our cul-de-sac. The original tree, a fir, was mistakenly cut down and I thought it would be nice to replace it with a more colorful tree. A neighbor and I paid for this one after the subdivision dragged their feet too long. The second photo is of the two sugar maples I had planted in front of my house. The only on the left was planted first; the one on the right was planted a year later and on the same day as the one in the circle. Notice the difference in size even though the one on my property lost its leader in a windstorm - it is roughly twice the size of the one in the circle. Other than an occasional watering, I have done nothing to the one in the circle. The one on my property gets nutrients from lawn fertilizer and regular watering and I keep the lower branches trimmed so as to gain access underneath the tree to cut the grass. Also the transition from normal leaf color to fall color has been delayed by the plentiful supply of food and water. |

This specific species has great importance in the perfume industry. Its cultivars have a wide variety of smells, including rose, citrus, mint, coconut and nutmeg, as well as various fruits. |

I planted a couple last year and they looked stunning about 2 weeks ago, vivid red, just wow but I forgot to take pictures. Now they're just bare branches (more like twigs to be honest) but still, they'll look nice with some white Christmas lights on next month. |
