| Jr. F'ing Member My Ars ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I recently spent 6 days in the hospital with a kidney stone & liver problems. Obviously the liver issue is the main reason I had to be in the hospital, however the kidney stone issue is centainly the more painful problem. It still hasn't passed, and every trip to the john is an education in pain. Anyone else had kidney stones before? If so, how many, and what did you have done about it if anything? If you ask me something, and I don't reply quickly, it could be because I expect another hospital stay in the near future unfortunately. |

| Get some! ![]() ![]() ![]() | Liver problems? Booze or overdoing it with the Tylenols? Overtime, Acetaminophen can take a toll on the liver like a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels. I know of some people who've been taking Excedrin or Tylenol PMs for the sleep aide and not realizing they're also taking a pain reliever. Switch to Unisom if that's the case. Powerful stuff, so you can split the pill in half and just get a little buzz to help you sleep. Or is it hepatitis? What's your diagnosis, Dr. Phobos? I say its lupus. ![]() |

| Jr. F'ing Member My Ars ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Haha...thank you doctors. I should have just asked you both rather then go to the hospital. PS: I'm not sure what the problem is with the liver yet. It just ain't working right, and they still haven't figured out why. After they got my blood work semi normal they sent me home, and I've got more test & junk in the future. I've never had 'booze' in my entire life, so that ain't it. And I don't take too many pain killers either, so that's probably not it either. |

Bunch of things in my bloodwork were too high or low, and apparently the things that were off are things generally related to liver issues. Right now I've had multiple theories of the exact cause; from an infection to mistakes in the lab. After they gave me some meds to get certain things back in check, they discharged me still not giving me a definative cause of it all. I've getting checked out by a couple other doctors & getting more blood work done soon. Things weren't off just a little though, it was bad enough that they kept me for 5 days in row....bags of fluid, antibiotics & other meds... That's a funny Friends episode...the only thing is...I still have to pass my stone, and I don't think it'll be that funny. :p I've been pissing blood for a little over a week....not a couple days. I'm attempting to go to work today...I'm going to feel like crap by the time my shift ends. |

While I was gone they walked all over the sub, and today they had to be put back in their place a bit. I'll probably have to make Friday hell for them, just to get things back to normal. You spend all summer training them, then you disappear for a couple weeks and they go crazy again...geez. |

| Get some! ![]() ![]() ![]() | Actually, when you're going to pass a stone, it's not a good idea to drink many fluids if the stones haven't been broken down with lithotripsy. Because if you haven't had the lithotripsy, the fluids can't pass thru so it goes back to your kidneys and you feel even more pain. tsk tsk, Val. I wish you kidney stones. ![]() |

| Jr. F'ing Member My Ars ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Actually the doctors have been telling me to drink a lot of water. I don't drink beer, sorry Val. Got a message on my machine today while I was at work. My doctor wants me to call Monday to set up a surgery date. He didn't leave any details of what he's going to do, so I guess I'll find out when I talk to him on Monday. PS: I don't expect my kids to act like adults, but they can still show some respect & clean up after themselves....that's about all I ever ask of them. Didn't really get them too bad today....felt pretty crappy most of the day myself, and I couldn't muster the energy to really get them. Didn't do much interacting at all actually. Just observed & directed....felt to bad to participate like normal. |

Probably not a great idea doing so without even knowing what's wrong with it but figured this might be of interest. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...120400950.html Anyway, all the best. |
