Creative Differences Or Lazy

I've recently been working on 2 animated music videos at the same time with 2 different animators. It's amazing to me how easy it is to work with 1 guy & how difficult it is to work with another. 1 guys gets me want I want the first time I ask for it, while the other takes short cuts left & right while flat out ignoring given instructions. I can wait for these videos to be done.

Anyone else have to work on a creative project with someone you just didn't see eye to eye with, or had other difficulties with?

A few times recently. Got tired of it and looking again for someone else to complete the project.

Yes, there are some people that just dont get it. Does the slacker have a skill that the other one doesnt? if not start to inch him out. if not ..Be more SPECIFIC to the slacker and even write down your needs. Talk to him. BUT this part is key tell him what you want ;than make him repeat back to you what he heard. You will soon find out that when you think you have made a strong point in a common sense like way that the person to who you are speaking to, has many filters that they hear something different. I'm constantly looking for a creative partner. With the PostSatires it's easy, they just send them in and I use them if I like them.

With the writing, it's proving a bit more difficult.

The search continues.

Plastic Flute: This video is going to be made up of various short clips in which I've written down detailed instructions for each, and in most cases given him example of what I'm looking for. He's an animator who is learning how to use new software at the moment. However, that doesn't explain why he doesn't even try to give me what I'm looking for at times. I don't think he's a bad guy, but I do think this job is 200x's bigger then he had thought at first. Now I think he's having a hard time finding time to work on it, so he's taking short cuts. I'm curious to see how this project turns out, and I'll post both videos here for you guys when their done. Then you all can try guessing which animator was the difficult one to work with. Both are supposed to be done by the end of the month...well actually the 1 guy was supposed to be done by the end of June, but we had to change that since he wasn't even close to being on pace to making that date.

i was a slacker in high school and when group projects had to be completed i did practically nothing... i just gave my input whenever asked. the group was nice though as some other people picked up my slacking behavior...

as for the topic, i don't have to worry. i know when someone is a slacker or not and i usually just get someone who gets things done on time... i've never experience that.
