Default Easter hike

I'm back from a 3 day hike along the Great Ocean Trail. 30km or so over 3 days, up and down hills and some spectacular ocean views.

My feet are now covered in blisters, I have a couple of stunning bruises due to my clumsiness, and I ache all over, but it was a great weekend. Also saw a mix a wildlife, koalas, wallabies, a couple of snakes.

Awww...cute little baby snake.

I didn't feel like going on an Easter hike.

Last week I put on my summer tires (on my new car) after a mild and snowless winter. Sprink is breaking now and the wheather celebrated this with minus degrees and 10 cm of snow every day. As if it wanted to annoy me.

No kangaroos. A wallaby is probably close enough to looking the same to confuse you Americans though.

It was with a group from the theatre company I'm with. A couple of of them bushwalk and hike and put a group together. I don't think I'd do it on my own just because of the safety. A twisted ankle, fall, bite, would want someone else around.

Had a great time, would definitely do it again. Th little snake was very cute, we all stood in a circle and watched him for a bit. Then left the area in case mummy was still around.

Im jealous. That looks nothing like the Jersey Shore. Ive always wanted to hug a Koala Bear sooo cute.
I would never form a loving circle around a snake. I would just try an poke it with a stick and than run .

I've always wanted to visit Australia, it's probably the land blessed with the most awe inspiring views in Planet Earth, yet i've always been weary of koala's and sum aborigen with big arms destroying my coconut mandolin while yelling aloha goodbye style, while on the plane back to LAX sum old lady makes me her platonic manservent and forces me massage her calves.

Random Australia facts i've learned from Missy:

-Australians invented the folding sofa, Koala bears, and dust.
-Australia is the size of two canadas but only an area the size of Rhode Island is inhabitable.
-Australians version of dogs have three legs only and are named after a famous Beatle. That Beatle is: Pete Best.
-Every Australian has a snake skin vest that they take out on Sunday for special Australian dances and rituals or for just flossin' at the mall and impressing everyone.
-Australians smell wonderful like condensed milk and fabric softener.

I wanted to pick up the baby snake and hug it. I'm just wasn't sure how sick a nip from a baby red belly could make me. It would have sucked to have died so close to the end of the hike.

I just finished my 3 days of drinking over the Easter break. Not doing that again in a hurry!
Hoot, Koala bears can actually be vicious little sh*ts, they squeal like pigs & are so loud! Not so cuddley when they swipe you with their claws so my advice, just look at them. Dont touch.

They get grumpy when they hit that downer after a night binging on eucalyptus leaves.
