Is Clancey a synonym for fancy?

As you're talking about the word, is it rude as a non native English speaker to pronounce the term "can't" in the British way, when being in the US? Is that already considered swearing? I'm asking, as swearing is not seen as something that bad here, at least not when done in English. A couple of years ago, a girl in my brothers class went to Minnesota as an exchange student for a year. During a volleyball game she dropped the ball and commented that knee-jerk with the English f-word, as it's custom here, when one wants to express minor annoyance. She was embarrassed to see that everyone in the gymnasium had stopped what they were doing to stare at her in disbelief.

Ok, I couldn't think of a synonym for fancy and yesterday was St. Patrick's day so...

There is a large Swedish population in Minnesota; maybe didn't understand the f-word pronounced in English with a German accent.

Samson, in England the f-word is widely heard and used and unlikely to cause much offence unless you scream it in church or similar. The c-word still has more impact but in certain circles it's nothing but a term of friendly abuse.
