RIP John

27 years ago tonight John was murdered outside his apartment building in NYC. Like many tragic events, I remember where I was when I heard the news, Watching Channel 11 from NYC, between 11:15 and 11:45 at night.

I don't remember where I was when I heard this, I'm guessing at home and say it on the news. I remember the feeling though, like many tragic events it was surreal. It just didn't make sense, especially over such a trivial thing as an autograph.

I was only a year old when this happened so I dont remember it at all. Real shame...Too many nutcases in this world.

I was only a couple of days old this time, in a middle of a civil war.

In bed, when my radio alarm came on... it was a truly shocking moment even for someone like me who wasn't a Beatles fan.

I dj'd at a club at the time and had all our Beatle records there. It was snowing real hard that night but got back in the car to get them and bring them back to the station so they'd have them in the morning. The one song I heard all over on the radio but wedidn't have was John's Christmas song. We have it now, but not the day it mattered.
