Black Firday

So its time for Black Friday. Is anyone doing it this year. If so, what’d you get or going to get.

Im usually stupid and do it every year, this year I havent decided yet, theres nothing really I urgently need or want and presents will be much lighter this year due to a vacation trip. Plus deals seem worse then ever.

I did it once, back in the 70's..never again. There's nothing I need to buy that bad to have to wade through all those crowds. I tend to wait until everyone is back at work to do shopping. The stores are much less crowded then.

Jo: Black Friday, the day after thanksgiving. All stores open early and are packed. They call it Black Friday because Merchants bank accounts are allegedly "in the black" after today's sales.

Thanks Bill, sounds like the day after Christmas Day here, Boxing Day when people go crazy for the sales despite the fact they just got a ship load of presents. I'm with Bill, wait until everyone's back at work.

There are actually some stores which opened at 4 AM this morning!
What is even more incredible is that there are people who will be at those stores shopping at that hour of the night. Never overestimate the intelligence of the bargain hunter.

Retail sales are not expected to set any records this season due to the increase in energy costs. So today may be grey Friday at best.

Heehee. My store wasn't that bad. I think it's because we work in a general area where the population of people who shop their are usually working there. So everyone went to their home town to shop instead. Yes!

Black Friday sounds like boxing day here, the day after Christmas. Lots of people go out and buy all kinds of stuff they don't need because it's on sale. The timing of Black Friday seems quite good though since everything is on sale a month before Xmas so it could save money buying presents.

I went and saw the real ENOLA GAY on Black Friday . IT ROCKED !!!!!!

in the Air an Space Museum in Va. freaked me out a little seeing asians taking pics of it thou

I love seeing that kind of stuff. There's a Naval museum in Sydney where you can go on decommissioned boats and a submarine. Very interesting. And when I was in Detroit I saw the car Kennedy was shot in, that was kind of eerie having seen the video of it so many times.

As for the taking of photos, I guess it's no more disturbing than the westerners taking photos around the tunnels in Vietnam.
