Children should not be pole dancing

I know that might sound kind of obvious, but there's a pole fitness studio that's opened up in Sydney and there's controversy over it. It uses poles to develop fitness, not dancing, but fitness, more like acrobatics and martial arts skills. The family groups and others though are concerned it's only a small step from pole dancing and is therefore sexualising children.

Uhm, well, it isn't the actual pole that's considered sexual, is it? So if they're fully clothed and not making any inappropriate gestures then I don't see the problem. It's not dancing around the pole that's sexual, it's the lack of clothing and the 'moves' that makes it sexual. Right? Maybe it's a European thing.

I meant my opinion of the kids "pole dancing". That's probably a European thing. Isn't that what the world thinks? That we show nudity on TV all the time, etc.? Seems like the rest of the world sees Europe as one big red-light district.

^ That's basically what the various parent group and some psychologists are saying. Do ballet, other dance, or other activities, there's plenty of other options for keeping fit.

I know here poll dancing or strip dancing has become a more popular workout activity, it actually seems like a fantastic workout. From what I have seen of it its very sexual, no actual clothes off but the gestures of taking clothes off are there and the moves in general are sexy. I dont know if thats the kind they meant in the article but its probably not appropriate for kids as they will mimic it where there not suppose to and become more predisposed to it.
