On average, right-handed people live seven years longer than their left-handed counterparts.

Over 2500 left-handed people are killed every year by household objects intended for right-handed people.

Any lefties here? If so... bad luck

On a more interesting point, my brother and dad are left-handers and both ridiculously good at maths. My sister, my mum & me are right hands and moderately-rubbish at maths -- but very good at talking!

I'm sure you're superb at differential geometry - left handers have amazing spatial thinking - that's my own scientific theory anyway

Well I guess more that they often have to use tools not designed for them. My daughter is left handed and totaly struggles with scissors for example. Try using them with your left hand. How that would result in death though is a little but bewildering.

I'm fairly ambidextrous, I write, play guitar with my right hand, self pleasure myself with the left(ergonomically speaking it's much easier). I'm all about doing things in the most efficient manner and sometimes that just requires my left hand.

PS: I always get the feeling there's some kind of creepy sinister agenda behind someone telling me they're ambidextrous. The word itself reminds me of voodoo and pentagrams and fortune telling and all kinds of shady superstitious stuff.

I'm willing to be there's a spooky ambidextrous cult a la hot fuzz, where all the upstanding ambidextrous villagers amputate innocent people's arms and legs behind the scenes and mix them up in cauldrons with rat tails and baby hearts and the like. I'm unlucky I still haven't found the gates to to that club
