Our Impact on the Earth. A bit depressing, but sadly true!

Wow, there's a business opportunity in the future. There will be a fortune to be made building public transport to other planets. And of course they'll run late.

Kudos to Val, that's cleverly done propaganda and somewhat true.

Hehe. Of course the reason and aim behind ecology is of preserving a friendly environment for us and for future generations - that's the nearer future, looking some centuries ahead. Earth itself doesn't suffer from humans, it's not a living being. There can't be anything done about the future of Earth in some millions of years. Let me tell you in two billion years - that's still 3 billion years before sun will become a red giant - it will be frigging hot on Earth. Only simple life forms will still exist. And it's not because of manmade greenhouse effect, but because of sun's gradually increasing energy output.

We have plenty of things to deal with at the moment. I think we could leave the sun becoming a red giant to the next generation...maybe even the one after that.

I read a very brief theory that there's cultural differences that play some part in this.

The thought was that in many Asian countries they have lived for generations in the same villages doing the same thing. Fishing for example and as a result have a better understanding of conserving for ongoing supply.

On the other side in the US, Australia, and some other countries there is so much land and resources that historically it could be exhausted and then just move on to a new location.

The whole just move on to the moon or other planets falls in this theory....except the public transport hasn't been set up yet.

It came from Kitty. Not sure how that happened. I hadn't noticed but I've fixed it now.

No, you're thinking of cows and sheep, which produce one fifth of green house gases, not Val.

Thanx mummy ... I know why Dark Dude is too worried. Because he lives in the sea as a Sea Lion.
People, I advice you to save the link in your computer, because the yousendit.com just host it only to 7 days.
