Nightmares

Nearly everytime I try to sleep lately, I get these Godawful nightmares. Anybody here have any suggestions on how to overcome them?

Missy - I'd suggest that nightmares are probably related to real life sh1t /anxieties... you need to address those if you can and then hopefully the nightmares will fade.

I used to have a reoccurring nightmare which although wasn't directly related to stuff going on in my life seemed to fade away once things got on a more even keel.

The trouble is if you are going through a tough time at the moment then waking up with the 'hangover' of a nightmare doesn't make you feel any better does it :(

On a practical level though you can try all the stuff like a soothing bath with lavendar oil before going to bed, maybe reading something happy and uplifting, trying to regulate your sleeping time and make your bedroom a really peaceful and restful place.

Listen to some exorcism tapes, preferably from Father Malachi Martin. The more you do, the more desensitized you will become.

See, I already do that. But although I like the soft cotton feel against my ass, it hasn't been protecting me from nightmares. Men, yes, nightmares, no.

Conquer it, then control it. Simple as that.

Soon enough you won't even remember your dreams.
What did you expect? "Light some candles and think happy thoughts." <- That's useless unless you conquer it.

Once you do, nightmares seem like nothing. You'll yawn and turn around to fall back asleep.

Until then you'll be able to be in peace. I sleep playing this song every night. Because I can, because I've let go of most of the sh!t in life. Take Keri's advice. But do the bath thing for fun. You'll fine that by running away from such disturbances only leads to more. But when you control it, you can have your way with it.
