Pick an exotic disease

On the plane coming home they gave us information on diseases and that if we felt cold/flu like symptoms we should go to the doctor and tell them that we had been overseas.

Lucky me, 2 days after landing back here I've come down with a sore throat, cough, and pretty well all the cold and flu symptoms, so since I have a piece of paper telling me to go to the doctor immediately with any symptoms I am doing so, well sort of immediately, after a few days later.

Having been in third world countries and tropical areas there's many illness options available to me outside the everyday cold. So take a guess at what exotic illness the doctor will find. Maybe I'll start an epidemic. Oh, I'm pretty sure I don't have cerebal malaria since that will generally kill or at least put someone in a coma within 24-48 hours. Since I'm neither dead or comatosed I think I can rule that one out.

I'm pretty sure I'm not comatose. The coma does lead to death though so if I don't wake up tomorrow and find myself dead then I guess I was mistaken and was in a coma after all.

I'm a tradionalist; I always believe I've contracted either tuberculosis if I cough even once, or Yellow Fever if I'm feeling slightly seedy, even if there's an obvious reason for said feeling, such as the morning after a heavy night of drinking.

So my guess is that you've clearly contracted the Black Plague.

Actually the trend among health care workers in the US is to sneeze/cough into the crook of one's elbow instead of one's hand. Even with such precautions, tiny virus-laden droplets can spread a considerable distance. Its not necessary to be in the direct line of fire, so to speak. The only solution is to find a cave, crawl into it and stay there until summer.
