My experiences (you can skip that part, as I'm more interested in your views on the questions above and below): A dozen times I have been drunk, but never enough to have a blackout. I didn't even manage to forget my worries for the while (I was thinking about them in order to see if I wouldn't think about them, since I was drunk - and I knew I was drunk). Caffeine doesn't give me really any feeling. It's just habit. Nicotine ain't my drug either. I'm glad I never smoked, and have a resolution that I never will, so I had to buy nicotine gums. Aside from the nauseating taste, it only increases saliva production. But a pi**ing mouth isn't exactly my definition of fun. I still have quite some of those gums left. If they weren't so expensive, I'd have thrown them away by now. What do you think of those statements: On the talk about legalization of cannabis: The effects of smoking weed, including the risk of addiction, aren't worse than the one of smoking cigarettes. But it being not so dangerous compared to other legal drugs reduces the inhibition threshold for people to try it out. As a result more are affected by its health risk. Legalization would equal advertisement. Aside from alcohol and cigarettes, we'd have a third poeple's drug that makes our society less productive. On the claim of junkies that they can stop whenever they want: There's this perception that drugs, especially the hard ones, create unbelievable amounts of joy and that deprivation of the drug creates unpleasantness/pain in the addicts that compensates those good feelings formerly acquired by using the drug. But there is no such balance. People who try out heroin usually don't get hooked after the first try, even though this is often suggested by anti-drug-campaigns. The users know they are not addicted yet, they liked the feeling, but it didn't live up to the expectations of the drug. As a result they consider themselves being stronger than others, think they can take higher amounts without getting addicted, since they felt so clear again after the first does. And here's when the vicious cycle kicks in. Alas the pains that come with a heroin withdrawal aren't just a compensation for the feelings of easiness that the usage of the drug had caused earlier. The body did better regulating the presence of endorphin-substitute by shutting down own endorphin-sources than it does opening them up again. |

I gave a topic and made the effort to give some opinions people could agree or disagree with and you want to destroy it. Btw. I always thought cannabis was merely tolerated, not completely allowed. Like it is frowned upon and cannot be advertised publically - that's why the places are called "coffee-shops", right? I'd really like to read what people on this board think about drugs. Is occasional use of soft drugs ok for some of you or do you prefer to have a clear, unclouded mind. Has anybody seen colors and shapes similar to the ones featured in the Milkdrop-plugin for Winamp (That plug-in rules!) because of substance consumption? Pot's been decriminalized here also. I think it can be grown for personal use but not for sale. I don't use it though so not sure.

| The Inner Light ![]() ![]() ![]() | Samson, I haven't and don't do any drugs. I drink a very small amount of alcohol - but never enough to get drunk. We're talking a pint-a-week at most here. Why? I hate the culture, which runs rampant in Britain, but also because people overwhelmingly drink it to lose their inhabitions. I'd rather learn to do that through a natural process. I wanna be in control of myself and not have to rely on a drink. I think the biggest problem with cannabis is that people think it's a harmless drug, not realising the effects it can have on the brain (look at Dutch people like R@H and Cyn for undeniable proof of the retards it creates). That, and the fact that it's a gateway drug in the sense that dealers purposely 'upgrade' cannabis users to more expensive drugs. |

you disappoint me...I already stated in advance that I am no retard. If you'd tell me I'm mentally insane on the other hand, I'd agree to it. Has a nice ring to it, don't you agree?!
