Default What will happen with "Whatever"?

OK ok... just for discussion here... I am curious. This is one of those threads that really has been kinda discussed in various ways... but it seems that Whatever goes through these changes every 12 months or so... sometimes drastic. Some people have labled the recent events drastic, some have said it was needed, and others have said it was bad...

So where do YOU think things are going to head? I can tell you that the past few days have had more members and viewers here than in the past since the re-launch, but I think that is 100% pure coincedence.

So thoughts? Is Whatever Thriving, Dead? Some people said this is the hardest forum to mod.. but is it really? It seems kinda self contained.. runs itself...it is after all Whatever...

Forum itself runs itself IMO, but sometimes some mod action is needed, but it isnt often. This forum is more the peoples forum then Britney or Sports :/

It's because there is this whole assumption of mods having to always make topics to keep the forum going. Which personally, I think should not be a requirement at all. With that leads to making whoever that mass posts a mod. There is no need for three mods, they are there to regulate and lock/delete/etc whenever it is necessary.
YES! This is what I have come to know mods as. They are like caretakers and police, not "leaders." Mods aren't there to keep the forum alive, that's what the forum community is for. Mods are there to keep everyone in line and make sure things go smoothly in a particular forum. SHEESH! I knew bad sh*t was going down once you guys decided to call us "Forum Leaders." SHEESH!

See I think each messageboard has a different take on it, some seem to have Moderators be the ones who make topics and keep the forum running smoothly at the same time, other boards I notice tend to just have mods watch the forum for any spam and so on.

Thats what I think is the problem here, we dont have 1 clear cut reason what a mod means on here, never have.

This forum is most active because it includes so many different topics. Nobody here really have to launch conversation just monitor it. Its a bit different in the celeb forums. For a mod in here it should just be someone who is here often and responsible. It would also help if they started a few topics but they certainly dont have to start them all. Also all the forums on here have there up periods and downs. This dead topic has come up many times before, I dont see it as dead. It should just be a place where people can post almost anything they want.

It is spring break for k-12 in most of the US.

By my current estimates we'll find FH orbiting around Io and Europa 408-circad years. The year we make contact.

Spam and levity will continue being a crime and I will continue passing judgement on forum memebers who subscribe to those methods and ideologies.

this topic really shouldn't be in whatever. It should be in the fanhost discussions forum. But eh...

I want a good mix of everything, it is "Whatever" after all, why try to pin it down to something specific?

No forum really "needs" a moderator. Moderators are not there to provide content - they are there to check on spam, encourage posting, and watch for people being gratuitously nasty towards one another.

That function was not being performed on Whatever. It seems to be OK now though. So leave it as is until the next batch of crap breaks out, and appoint someone then.
