| The Former Owner - now just a poster! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | OK, so easter is a religous holiday.. I get it.. but whats up with the gifts and money? Between my inlaws and my own parents my son got a bike, several dump trucks and outside toys, several board games such as candyland adn whack a mole... 4lbs of candy, and $30! If you are not aware...he is 3. so whats the deal? Personally, I was kinda disgusted... it was just way too much and now he is beyond spoiled.. Can't wait for flag day... i hear my mother in law is getting him a Porsche. |

My wife and i woke up (hid eggs last night) for my son. We came downstairs and he ran around so excited as he found the eggs adn various chocolate bunnies. He had a basket on the couch with underwear, a book, and the chicken little dvd.. he loved it. The eggs were filled with basic candy and such. in terms of money, one egg had a $1 and 2 others had pennies... Then the grandparents show up.... I understand they like to spoil him but it was over the top... I was actually annoyed. |

| What does Easter mean to those who don't celebrate it as a religious holiday? I mean, surely it's not a holiday about bunnies and chocolate eggs...and if it's about being with family and loved ones, isn't that what Christmas is as well for the non-religious people? I have never heard of giving gifts on Easter. The egg hunt is about it, and that's a gift you have to work for. |

| Giving away stuff on Easter is a bit much. Chocolate egg hunts are fine, but anything else and it just isn't right. I don't even think of it as being a holiday that you necessarily have to spend eating a nice dinner and with lots of family around. It's just a 4 day weekend. It's nice to spend that time with family, but it's really not necessary. Camping trips are good. |

My family is so hypocritical when it comes to religion. (I think all religion is hypocritical anyway) My cousin hosted dinner Sunday night, she is Italian, Catholic, my grandparents are Jewish, sort of, one of my aunts is from India. The table is filled, along with matzo and Italian roles, kosher turkey and sausage, and pies and chocolate. and everybody takes some of everything. Whats the point of trying to celebrate Passover when your going to put bread and pies on the table. At least it involved a feast which is good enough for me. There where gifts given to my baby cousins. | |
