"Ghostbusters" PS3 Resume Career Glitch

i think some on here have had this problem with the "Ghostbusters: The Video Game" & was wondering how to solve this problem.

after i first got it i played it for a while & it did save my career. i waited a couple of weeks & put it back in to play it & there was no Resume Career, just New Career. i read, i think, on here & mainly on some other sites that there were 2 ways to fix it if it happened: delete your game save, start a new career & that should fix it; the other was to delete the game from the drive, reinstall it & that should fix it. i tried the second method last night & played it all the way through to where you are back at the firehouse with the Gozer book you get once you defeat the Lady in White from the Library & the guy that killed her, Azetlor the Destroy. after about an hour or so i turned it back on just to see if the Resume Career would show up this time, & it's still not there.

so, how do i fix this glitch??

after installing the lastest firmware update for my PS3 i went back & looked around on some more game sites & saw one technique i tried before but it didn't work at all after i tried it. so i gave it a shot one more time just to see, i had to do it 2 this time but it did finally bring up Resume Career though.

go into Multiplayer with your system either connectted or not connectted to the internet, let it load fully(internet connection) or let it load until it says can not establish broadband connection loading single player & exit out until you are at the main menu then go select career & it should now have resume career listed.

now mind you, just cause this technique worked this time doesn't necessarily mean it will work again or have fixed this glitch.

and also, from what i've seen on a majority of game sites i've been to, Atari still has yet to release a patch/downloadable update for this major glitch in a really great game that stays true to the Ghostbusters Universe.

I've had that problem before. I went out of the game into Saved Data, and then back into the game, and my career was there.

Haven't played it since before the last major update, so are there still clitches in the game? Like when you're following the Grey Lady through the book shelf maze? (it's when you get seperated from the rest of the group) I noticed the picture froze, but I still heard sound going. Then the game went to normal again.

I also heard that the glitches are worse on higher difficulty levels. Also have you got the drinking fountain trophy? And have you scanned all ghosts in the first level? I could only get 4/5 every time. Even though I scanned everything.

It is annoying there's been no updates for the game. Which like you, stays close to the films. It's great to play as well. Just annoyed by the glitches.

i had one small glitch were it looked like it was going to freeze up on me during a point where i was going somewhere in the underground sewer section of the Lost Island. and the only major in-game glitch i had was in one section of the Central Park Cemetery when it was Ray & me fighting those flying ghosts with the staffs & those little dog looking ghosts that come out of the portals in the ground trying to get over to Ecto-1, the game completely froze up on me.

currently working on get all the trophies/scans/videos back, since from the first level of the Hotel Sedgewick all the way to the Public Library they all disappeared on me. still don't even know how i'm going to get back the very first opening introduction video before you even start playing the game since that only shows up when you start a New Career.

Does the opening intro section have one of the ghosts for the first section?

As for your bugs, I've never had those when I've played through the game. Maybe it's different for each region?

those bugs are a killer. atari is known for making games with tons of glitches. when i first played the game and saved, i later went back in and found no data of saved games. but when i went under the start career mode, i found it there. but i have the game for the xbox 360. so the glitches can be different. other glitches i've found...

games won't continue on after you've defeated every enemy.

ghost and characters get trapped in walls and won't allow the game to continue.

cursed (hidden) items don't register after you've found got them

the game goes out of synch.

game freezes

and one of the worst ones.....in the graveyard, i'm under the cemetary with ray. i got ahead of him for a while and he vanished. i got outside to the area where the cherubs attack and the guys are waiting for the gate to open. still no sign of ray, but i could hear him barking orders. i tried going back into the underground area to look for him but the path had been blocked. i kept getting killed but kept reviving on my own and this allowed me to finally open the gate on the hardest difficulty. when we finally moved onto the area with the two giant statues, still no ray around but his voice was, the game wouldn't continue. the ghosts just kept coming and coming in waves. but the statues never came alive. i had to quit and restart at the last saving point, which was the area with the statues. ray was back, finally and the game continued as it should have. beat the game and was declared a god.
