| Cannot live without Love ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | How's your computer today? - Muted. My motherboard's southbridge is broken and it doesn't like my soundcard anymore. So I'm forced to listen to music through my laptop. - I've bought a Gigabyte motherboard on eBay. Just 19 euros, shipping included. eBay rocks. - I'm still waiting for it. Spanish postal service sucks. - Last time someone sent me a Windows virus was in June 2007. This is so frustrating. My virus collection is completely dead. I must be happy with just one MSN phishing attempt, every three months. The rest is spam, spam, spam... - It would be a good idea to install a Windows machine, without firewall, all ports opened. Just one Outlook contact: me. At least, I would send viruses to myself. - I installed KDE 4.1 in my laptop. My god. I switched back to 3.5 after just seven days. - I've bought some 5.1 speakers on a grocery (!!). Completely new, just 12 euros. Probably they mixed up the printed price. But now they are mine, huh huh... they sound great. - By the way, I don't have any 5.1 soundcard. And no DVDs or games that use that feature. But I don't care. |

The play2 has more audio channels than the CPU or DVD player and I have a 7.2 professional Denon receiver on my sound room at my house. It's better! ![]() But mced ... I'm using VGA antivirus. Is this good? |

| Get some! ![]() ![]() ![]() | Quote:
My desktop PC: It has Vista, now, but probably not for long. I'm in the works of buying new parts, almost new everything. If I buy the right parts, I'll have a OSx86 and XP dualbooted. My laptop PC: I tried to OSx86 it. I split the HDD in 2, installation went smoothly but on first restart attempt I get stuck on the grey Apple screen and the spinning indicator just freezes, no HDD activity. I did a "-v" boot and the last line said something about the battery power. I didn't feel like scouring the internet to fix it, wasn't worth the pain or time. I'll just buy a bloody Macbook Pro. ![]() I then formatted the 2nd partition but forgot that the OSx86 installed the boot chameleon so I got a "boot0: error".. f*** me. Using GParted, at first the 1st partition wasn't flagged as "boot", I forgot what else happened but thing was that I lost my Vista Recovery disc I made so I couldn't restore the vista bootloader. Instead, I grabbed the Ubuntu CD and installed it on the 2nd partition. Doing that, it added GRUB, so now I can boot to either OS. I ordered new recovery disc from HP, cost me 16 dollars. For the life of me I can't find those disc but when I do I'm going to make at least 5 more sets of copies and store them in strategic places around the apartment so this never happens again. I'm not sure if I will be able to make copies off the ones that will be arriving. I don't plan on keeping Ubuntu, I want to try the new Fedora but haven't downloaded the ISO yet. I think I may always keep that 100GB 2nd partition for trying different Linux Flavours. My laptop's HDD is 250GB but I plan to put in a much bigger one, as big as it can go. I'm insane. My powerbook: It's basically on life support. Still use it, just slow as hell. Last edited by FireBird; 01-10-2009 at 07:47 AM.. | |
