As few websites reported, the news is turning into big fail! such as rumors that Toshiba-Samsung Storage Technology Corp, a joint venture between Samsung and Toshiba, has been contracted to manufacture external Blu-ray drives for Xbox 360. And that Microsoft aims at $100 - $150 price-point for the device. BUT HEY! HELL NO! “We have no plans to integrate Blu-ray into the Xbox experience,” said Aaron Greenberg, group marketing manager for Xbox Live at Microsoft. In a interviw with Microsoft’s official Major Nelson blog, reports VideoGaming247 web-site. According to Mr Greenberg: We believe that we shouldn’t force people to pay for things they don’t want. We also believe that the future is digital, and that’s why we’ve invested in a massive library of entertainment content, that’s why we’re bringing things like Netflix to members in the U.S.,that’s why we’re growing our library in Europe, that’s why we’re adding all type of entertainment experiences around the world, Aaron Greenberg Interview Thats big shame because Playstation 3 would be last chance to expiriance Blue-Ray (in general) for (Xbox) console Gaming. And If Microsoft decides to use higher-capacity optical media, it may either adopt Blu-ray, or resurrect HD DVD with the help of Toshiba Corp. and DVD Forum. But Microsoft decided not to support Toshiba earlier this year after several negative announcements regarding drop of HD DVD support by Warner and major U.S. retailers, which eventually caused Toshiba to drop the HD DVD support too. |

Bill Gates said in an interview ... I think I deleted the source in portuguese, but I'll look for it again ... that the HD-DVD is better than Blue-Ray disc. Of course, Bill Gates is getting older and doesn't think with the brain anymore. This is a long history. If we go back to the 80's, Sony chose Betamax as the tape of its k-7 player and the VHS won the battle. But in the games case, the situation was different. Well, I'll look for the source to share. ![]() |
