| Member of Sylar's Army ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ok so i own all versions of these games. before i even tried the game i thought it was the most rediculous series of games i've ever heard of. but then i tried it and now i'm hooked. it's addictive and i don't even mind that my fingers get all cramped up cuz of it. the first game in the GH series i played was 3. i loved it. so i had to go out and get GH1 and 2 and rock the 80's. i loved these games but rock the 80's upset me cuz it was more like an extension to part 2. the cool thing is that with 2 and 3 i was able to download new music online to continue enjoying the game. it's amazing. rock band is the same except you get to enjoy it with friends. and unlike GH, in rock band you can play a drum and sing if you want to. i'll stick to the guitar. the games are all basically the same, you have different sets of songs, about 5. and as you go on in the game the songs get harder and harder. with rock band even if you finish the game you can count on having new songs to play every tuesday. often getting around 3 song to download or even a full album. this coming tuesday they'll be released one of "the who"'s full album. the same goes for GH. every once in a while they'll release something for it. the lastest song they released was free. it was "the top gun anthem". so now there's GH: Aerosmith. i bought it, and i'll be honest i was dissapointed. most of the songs in the game are their early works. these are songs i'm not very familiar with. i'm not into aerosmith but i have enjoyed a lot of their songs and i was looking forward to playing some of the ones i've heard. i was upset to find out only a few of them were in there. everything else...well i had never heard of them. not only that but the bonus songs are mostly from the joe perry experiance. his own band. only a few of them are from aerosmith. there were a few cool moments in the game. like when run from run dmc shows up and raps for walk this way. i loved that. i didn't like that they didn't even include "don't wanna miss a thing" in the game and it was one of their biggest song. but then i found out they're saving that song for "guitar hero 4" also known as guitar hero world tour which will be released in the fall. apparantly 4 will have multiple songs from various bands like linkin park, van halen, etc. now there's talk that sometime next year there will be a guitar hero: metallica. i'm pretty sure i'm buying that one too. at least i'm sure i'll enjoy the songs in that game since i've heard every one of their albums. |

| Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There's already a Rock Band version of Metallica. Best advice I could give you is to not rush out and just buy them on impulse, check the setlists first since they're usually available before the games are released. Anyways as I've mentioned before as an actual guitarist the concept of playing songs I could already play on an actual guitar but with a plastic toy was always weird, but it's a great tool and I acknowledge that these games have got thousands, if not millions of kids listening to and becoming interested in great music that they would otherwise not have been exposed to, due to the current state of radio, eMpTyV and the music industry in general. ![]() |

DLC content for RB2 will also play with the RB1 game. i have seen the set list of songs for RB2 and it sucks. it does not come close to being as good as the original. it has several good songs but it seems like they've already run out of songs to put into these games. here's the set list for rock band 2.... | Member of Sylar's Army ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | holy cow! as of today you can download the entire new metallica album "death magnetic" for guitar hero 3. that's insane. i already heard the entire album, actually i must have listened to it at least about 4 times now and i will say they finally made an album worth listening to. there's several songs in there that just rock and sound like they came out of their earlier albums when it was all about guitar solos and heavy drums. the download will also include several extra songs basically alternate versions of some of the death magnetic songs that include longer solos. if you have an xbox 360 then your in luck (thank god i own both the 360 and the ps3) cuz rock band 2 will be released only for the 360 this sunday the 14th. individual instrument peripherals will also be avialable. the bundle pack will come out october 19. the wii and ps3 versions will be available on oct 19 as well. what sux for me is that we're about to get hit with a hurricane this weekend and i have a feeling i won't be getting my game cuz of it. |

I've only seen them in picture of course, but what I do know is that they resemble V-drums in shape and can be played indendendently to the game, meaning you could use them for the game or for you're own entertainment. Seems like a decent deal considering most low end electronic drums run for about $500. I'll have to demo them at the store... The "main" drums look the same as the first edition with more sensitive pads(probably my biggest complain being there's no "rebound" on those heads) and with more sensitive response(triggers). About the Metallica album, I have mixed feelings. I like a lot of the riffs, the songs are more aggressive, not quite in the quality of their earlier work, but still the best I've heard from Metallica since the Black Album. But the way Lars just completely ruins them with below average drumming... it's just sad. Last edited by Captain Beefheart : 09-11-2008 at 03:17 AM. |
