But sometimes I open my mail box and there are 80, 90 ... 100 mails only with bull sh!t How do you do with this situation? Delete all your mail box with no problem, or read one by one? |

More important than spam being filtered from your inbox is not having mail you want in your inbox. You need to be careful how you use your services if you want to avoid spam. It goes without saying that posting your email on the internet in any sort of captureable format then you'll start getting spam. However, there are other considerations. If you use and share from any of their other applications you're probably sending a URL that contains your username in it. This can be captured and turned into your email address quite easily. If you use Google Pages, for instance, then the URL will probably be [username].googlepages.com. If that's indexed and searchable then it will be turned into an email list by spammers. |

| Cannot live without Love ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Captain Beefheart is right. Everytime I see a guy who gaily writes his E-mail on a public board, I think "Huh, probably you don't know what Viagra or penis enlargement treatments are, but you're going to!" Anyway, prevention is sort of a wasted time when your contacts know nothing about spam. Just one massive mail containing that silly Powerpoint joke, sent to thousands of contacts written in the "TO:" field, is a treasure to spam collectors. Please: every time you have to send something to multiple recibients, use the "BCC:" field to write them. Just include a bogus E-mail in the "TO:" field (like bill@gat.es) and everything'll be OK. P.S: I hope bill@gat.es doesn't exist :P |

It's embarrassing for a IT company to put the email addresses in plaintext on the website. However, it is compulsory be German law to do so - well not for the employee addresses, but you got to have an imprint on any .de site with email address and postal address (no P.O. box) in plaintext. The plaintext rule is because of blind people, who have the browser read them the website's content. Isn't it noble of German legislation to think of the disabled? Oh btw, the imprint obligation doesn't only apply for commercial websites, but for private ones as well. |

| Cannot live without Love ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That's insane. There are many workarounds for blind people. For example, embeeding a Flash Video containing the recited E-mail. You just have to link it with an "E-mail for blind people" text and that's fine. When legislators know nothing about computers and internet, then they come these stupid laws. |
