Default Real Player... which version?

I have a problem. I installed the newest version of Realplayer on my computer, but it almost shut down my Firefox, well the FF was damn slow then. and often stopped loading and all that.

thing is there are often videos posted around here which I canīt watch, cause, as it seems, of a missing realplayer.

does someone know what kind of realplayer I could use, to watch those videos but without that my Firefox gets slowed down in any ways??

hope someone had advices or even a link to a realplayer

Thanks in advance!

Hey aloha,
if you have trouble seeing some types of videos maybe what you need isn't only the real player.
You need a codec pack.

Try this one.
It contains all the codecs needed to view all types of videos and real player is included also.
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...Codec_Pack.htm

Note: While installing when you get to a point where you can choose how many codecs it will install select the option 5 (lots of stuff)

Are you talking about videos embeeded on web pages, or standalone RA/RAM/RM files?
Can you watch them with Internet Explorer + Real Player?
Can you install an old Real Player version? For Windows, I've got 8 and 10.

oh boy I actually have not the smallest clue of all that stuff. I can just say with the one I had installed a week ago or so, it was working, what didnīt work before, but it shot down my whole firefox kinda.

donīt know what version it was or what Ra/Ram or things like that are
I asked Samson for help and he said I should ask here, but it seems too complicated for me all this stuff, cause I have no clue about it

She doesn't have any real player at the moment. She needs one for the videos embeeded on web pages and tried out a new version (don't know which). This one however slowed her browser down to a point beyond usuability, so she had to deinstall it again. I only have RP8 and don't encounter that problem. But I find that some streams demand for a higher version. So far I could do without those videos and haven't installed a new version of RP.

RealPlayer 11 is actually pretty good. Its the newest version and lets you save online videos like from youtube and such. Though I work at Real so I may be slightly biased :P

Firefox usually has nothing to do with Real Player. At least when I've used it to watch videos it opens Real Player apart from Firefox, not within Firefox.

Plus Firefox is notorious for memory leaks, so I'm not surprised that it slowed down on you. Might want to try Opera Mini.

well the videos opened with real player, of course, but my firefox was so slowed down that it completely stopped loading each time when you opened a new site or refreshed and thatīs pretty annoying

okay, well i really need a real player now, but a real player that absolutely doesnīt shot down the rest of my firefox or anything else.
and it has to be as easy to install that even a person like me understands what to do without destroying or damaging anything on my computer.

I just need a player that with what I can watch EVERY video that is not quicktime or wmp

hope someone knows something, Iīm frustrated and donīt know what to do anymore

I just checked and I have the VCL player already.
but how do I use it? I mean sometimes thinks are opening with that player but I mostly can only hear the voices there but there is no picture

well okay, what do I need for this video for example? thatīs the video at the moment that gives me trouble cause I canīt watch it

Woody Harrelson a sosit în România!

or to listen to audio interviews or something?

Samson gave me a flash player but itīs not working with that one.

well i donīt know, maybe someone can make another file out of that video above at least so i can watch it for now.

but I still need something with what I can watch absolutely everything
