From what I've learned about the way they operate in the US when the Xbox 360 breaks down they not only replace it but pay for it to be couriered from the customer to MS then back again.
Never heard of this before so I email customer support and get this...
Quote:
Thank you for writing to Xbox Customer Support. We appreciate you taking the time to write us with your concerns and value you as an Xbox customer.
I see that you had contacted our customer support and placed an order for out of region repair (Reference no:XXXXXXXXXX). Our system shows that your console is out of warranty, however the repair fees has been waived for the three red lights issue of your console.
You will then assign any courier service to ship the console to the Australia Service Repair Center. You need to pay the shipment charges yourself and Microsoft will bear the return shipment fees. You will be responsible for any customs fees, taxes, or tariffs that result from shipping to and from the service center. |
So not only do we pay more for the console than what people do in the US they also **** us over in shipment fees, etc.
Going to cost me about $150 to ship it to OZ. Then no doubt have to pay for the same thing again when it breaks down 6 months after I get it back.
Hell with MS, just sticking with Sony from now on.
