Default Guitar Hero III

anyone pick this up? it came out yesterday. i just wanna know if it's any better than the last one or if it's just the same. i haven't had a chance to even try it out. at work we recieved an equal amount for all three consoles. at the end of the night when the store close there was only one left for wii, about 10 for ps3 and there were none left for the 360. (goes to show which consoles are prefered over others where i live). i've been thinking of getting it but it's going to be hard to find a version for the 360 here. not only that but we received the last shipment of wii's for the store this year. how sad.

I've been playing this the last couple of days and so far I liked the songlist in GH2 much more than this game.

The online is awesome though, totally lag free.

i've heard the song list on GH2 is better. i need to find it used at some game store. i bought GH3 for the 360. do they sell adapters for the guitar to connect to the 360 itself. i hate having to go thru batteries all the time. i really hate batteries.

It's a matter of taste with the songlist. I personally like Guitar Hero 3's songlist compared to 2's. They also just released two download packs featuring the Foo Fighters and Velvet Revolver. The on-line play hasn't been laggy for me yet either.

I was really giddy when they put "Rock you like a hurricane" in the list :D

Really like "One" by Metallica too (classic) and the final song is just as good as Freebird :D

Oh and I'm still using the GH2 guitar, I just bought the game separately. I don't like batteries either lol

This game looks fun. We've been playing it on our widescreen at work. I haven't tried it out, but I think I pretty much know what to do. It's pretty expensive and I'm asking for "Dance Dance Revolution", which is also expensive because I need the mat. So I may have to wait on this one. It's rated E, isn't it?

i've scored 100% on a medium song but don't remember which one. Getting 5 stars on hard can be difficult at times.

just means i need to play more

Why do they think that is a fun game? Mabey for kids, I rather have a real guitar.

I wish people would quit playing Tecmo Bowl and get out there and throw a real pigskin. At this rate, football will be a thing of the past by the year 2000.

But on the serioius, it's interesting that Guitar Hero has turned out to be such a cultural phenomen, because at the end of the day either kids will ask a virtual guitar for christmas instead of the real deal or they will be inspired to take lessons.

I've seen people play that game at my college. They look foolish.
I'd much rather prefer a real guitar. Chicks dig a guitarist, not a guy holding a toy.

why do people automatically assume that if you play guitar hero you don't play a real guitar. well i do play a real guitar and i can tell you that for some weird odd reason i get finger cramps from the fake guitar than the real one. i'm thinking the reason is the size of the thing. it's so small and uncomfortable. but at the same it's fun to play against others. it is a lot easier to play a real guitar than the fake guitar. at least it seems that way to me. hell even slash admits to playing the game at some parties he's gone to. yes i've also seen others play the game and they look funny but then again even real guitarists look funny when they play the real deal. especially the faces they make. i try hard not to make faces. i just try to keep a cool and calm look.

Youre right Beef. my sons and his 4 best buddies 3 have guitars 1 doesnt , but wants one for christmas. Play Paint it Black and other 80's tunes in my living room . Only 1 takes lessons.
They always want me to be lead singer lol
