OK, I don't get it. Are the "Stories"-games just like the "GTA3" trilogy, just with the same locations, only other stories or are there major differences (like the the games being cheaper, when they first come out). Is the player the brother of Vance this time? That would suck, as we know, he dies in the beginning of GTA VC.

You've pretty much summed it up yourself, same locations, new missions. This is a prequel to the other game, so while you play as Vic, you still interact with brother Vance. The biggest difference with these games is that they start life on PSP, so it's GTA on the move. This will probably be released on PS2 as a budget title though, the same as with Liberty City stories.
