| Lovin' it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I thought I should start a new thread as Euro 2008 is over now. I haven't heard about much transfers yet just Deco to Chelsea. Possibly Drogba to Milan...yay! Who you think will win the premier league next season? The eredivisie(netherlands) and La liga?? I think Chelsea will come close again to winning. So I'll say Chelsea/Arsenal. I hope to see Newcastle United do better this season. The ere divisie will be won by PSV!! And FC Barcelona will dominate La Liga hopefully |

Except. Deco (chelsea) and joe (man city), Theres still over 30 days to the season begins. I think manchester united will bye one striker to replace saha!. Hopefully it will be berbatov? Premier league title...probably utd /chelsea again and possibly arsenal, Cant see liverpool winning it, They've not really improved much on last seasons squad. Villarreal and Atletico have to play in the CL and usually those teams are weakened by having to play in multiple competitions. Madrid has one of the best young cores in Europe(Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Sneijder, Gago, Robben, Robinho), injuries withstanding I would be surprised if they not only won the league but reached atleast the semi's of the Champions League. Premier: Depends on Ronaldo really, if he leaves I would say Chelsea are favorites, depends how long it takes Felipao to get used to the style and pace of the league. But on paper they have the best midfielders in that league(Lampard? Makelele, Ballack, Essien, Deco, Cole, Mikel). Their only weakness is probably a right winger and a striker if Drogba leaves. Based on Portugal's 4-2-3-1 ---------------------Cech----------------------------- Boswinga---Carvahlo----Bottler-----Cashley C!unt------- ---------Essien---Second place finisher/first place loser-- ---(winger)----------Deco------------Joe Cole---------- --------------------(Drogba?)-------------------------- Team I'm most looking forward to watching: Tottenham. If Juande can work on that defense, Berbatov stays and Modric adapts to the pace of the league then watch out, they could fire on all cylinderes like Arsenal. Calcio/Serie A: Inter Milan. Easiest league to predict, with Mourinho I don't really see the dramatics of having to win the league in the last day by almost chocking a 12 pt lead away. Milan probably has the poorest depth of the major teams and Juventus is still far away from actually assembling a competitive squad. Last edited by Captain Beefheart; 07-09-2008 at 07:08 PM.. |

It's never bad to have a wealth of good players but his position is already covered by Guti/Granero. Apart from the economic aspect I don't really understand it, but yeah.. Hleb is pretty much a done deal with Barcelona and will be presented in a couple of days. ![]() |

It's probably a smokescreen to pressure Milan into upping their bid considering Ronaldinho wants to go there, but Galliani probabably won't force his own hand and they'll eventually get him for around 15 million euros or so. ![]() |

Barcelona's right wing with Alves-Messi is potentially the most dangerous in Europe and they already seem to have an understanding of each other without playing more than two games together. ![]() |

Some of the money being thrown out in the premier is kafkanian(there's a rumor about Tevez getting a record fee extention with United) If Liverpool find themselves languishing in 4th/5th/6th place by the time November rolls around he will be declared a massive flop and people will start question Rafa for not getting that elusive wide dynamic player that could help them massively. |

| Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Basically you've facilitated Tottenham's push to end up with a player like Arshavin who's the type of profile you need. A wide player that's not only very direct in his play but has an added bonus of being really creative. Most teams today basically rely on either a secondary striker(Rooney, Robinho, Aguero, Van Persie players like that) or an "extremo"(Cristiano, Robben, Messi, Quaresma etc). With basically a season in his belt you already know Torres strength and he's always worked best when he doesn't have a secondary striker behind him because of his tendency to drift wide, so basically you're clogging his channel and forcing him to stay in a more central position where he can't exploite all his tools. I just don't get this move from a tactical standpoint let alone a financial one. But we'll see. ![]() |

| LH/FH.Com 0ld Skool ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Your right we needed an attacking winger & most people around the worlld know that but it seems Rafa... As for the signing of Keane in a way it's good cuz his a better back up to Torres to what we have now in Kuyt whos now a winger/team worker & that pony tail voronin... |

But yet some of buys you just can't get. How do you validate spending 20 million pounds on a player when you don't even know if he's going to be a starter. Very few teams can afford that. |

Has Chelsea actually EVER won a penalty shootout? HAHHAHAHAH. Milan makes me sad. Galliani is completely oblivious to his team's needs and he has still left Milan in a vulnerable position despite making several improvements to the squad. PS: Sneijder out for probably 6 months after a wreckless tackle by Diaby in a pre-season game. Last edited by Captain Beefheart; 08-04-2008 at 12:15 AM.. |
