Question 4-28-08 E.C.W show

Mike Adamle, welcomes us to Atlantic City, with some stupid speech about it being the place where fortunes are won and lost. Time for our first match!

* Shelton Benjamin v. Kofi Kingston

Tazz and Adamle discuss whether Kofi Kingston can pull off the seemingly impossible and beat Benjamin twice in a row. Benjamin: "You got lucky, your win last week was a fluke. I hope that translates in Jamaican. Your luck is about to run out." The bell rings and we're underway! Benjamin tries to get a roll-up right off the beat for three and has 2 near falls in about 15 seconds. He's all over Kingston like flies on crap. Kingston kicks out of another near fall at 2 only to have Benjamin pick him up and give him an elongated backbreaker stretch over his knee. Kofi clubs at Benjamin's head to get free but just gets beat down again with repeated knees to the gut and head. The crowd is completely dead for this match. Big shot to Kofi's back for another cover and a two count. Apparently judging by the replay window ECW is brought to us by Rambo tonight. After a long pregnant pause in the commentary Adamle asks if this is the end when both Kofi and Benjamin end up on top. Kofi jumps off for a modified frogsplash but Benjamin rolls through for a near fall. Benjamin dumps Kofi on his head and makes the cover and apparently Adamle is keeping count on how many near falls he's had because he claims five. Another long awkward pause in commentary right before Kingston hits his roundhouse Jamaican buzzsaw kick and gets the pin. WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON. I wonder if they're actually going to try to build this feud up long enough for a payoff match at Judgment Day.

Commercial break and then we're back with a promo for Smackdown saying Matt Hardy will make his first title defense this Friday. The camera pans over Atlantic City and Adamle starts singing "Under the Boardwalk." Ugh! Thankfully Tommy Dreamer's music interrupts and it's time for another match, scheduled for one fall. Dreamer is flanked by Colin Delaney, and even though it's been said as a rib on Dreamer it's actually true - he's wearing the shirt for the next PPV J Day instead of his own merch.

* Tommy Dreamer v. Mike Knox

Knox tries to charge Dreamer right away but he's all over him with punches and kicks. Knox finally ducks a clothesline and hits one of his own to a light round of boos, followed by a much louder TOM-MY chant when he puts Dreamer in a chinlock. It's hard to believe Knox DOESN'T take steroids when you look at his bulging bicep wrapped around Dreamer's throat. Knox takes exception to Delaney being on the apron, so he gives him a punch and follows up by going to the floor to whip him into the steel steps. Dreamer kicks Knox while he's on the outside and tries to follow up but gets a beating for his trouble and is finished back in the ring when Mike DOES THE KNOX and makes the cover for three. WINNER: MIKE KNOX.

Promo for the Hardy Boyz DVD when we go to break, and for Kid Rock's theme song for Backlash "All Summer Long" when we come back from break. Matt Striker is in the ring with a desk and a chalkboard. "Spring break is over and I have a sneaking suspicion you need to be taught. I'm reminded of the great Geddy Lee who once sang begin the day with a friendly voice unobtrusive. Our Smackdown brethern will become accustomed to the voice of my guest tonight. Please welcome the newest addition to their broadcast booth and a hardcore legend, Mick Foley!"

Foley comes down and says it's great to be back in an ECW ring. Striker says he has a lesson for Foley to bring him up to speed, and Foley says that's very thoughtful. Striker says we're all accustomed to his accomplishments in the ring, but Foley says don't forget the two New York Times bestsellers. Striker says he's no Gore Vidal but thanks to spellchecker he did a decent job. Striker says if he didn't have to appear on camera he'd be great, but he's got a face better suited for radio. "The eyes are the window to the soul Mick, but not you, it's not your eyes - it's your smile. Your smile is a window, but actually yours is a window to your uvula, in the back of your throat, which I can see through the gap in your teeth." He also notes that Foley isn't looking too fit and Mick compliments him on being very astute. Foley: "I kind of like the way that I look, the scars, the smile, the missing ear. It all reminds me of the fact I sacrificed a lot to entertain our fans. Two principles you may have trouble following as a pretty boy, who has never sacrificed anything, and never entertained anyone." Striker: "I appreciate the compliment but I think I'm more on the adorable side, but it has nothing to do with anything. Perception is reality, and the perception is you look like you rolled out of your dorm room after smoking THE POT and listening to Bob Seger's greatest hits." Foley: "These sweatpants contain more testicular fortitude than you'll ever have and our great fans, RIGHT HERE IN ATLANTIC CITY, know it." Nice cheap pop Mick! Striker: "Smackdown has some of the best technical wrestlers on the planet, so I have to ask seriously do you know the difference between a Northern Lights Suplex and the Northern Parkway." Foley: "Let me show you what else I have in these sweat pants! No no no, Mr. Socko is not here to do you harm, he's here to teach the teacher a lesson in english. You, subject, are, verb, an arrogant, adjective, condescending, descriptive adjective... is that Gore Vidal!" Striker: "Gore Vidal's not here!" Foley sticks Socko down his throat when Striker turns to look. "Class, dismissed. HAVE A NICE DAY!!" Foley leaves to the approval of the fans as Striker sells the taste of sock in his mouth. Commercial.

* CM Punk v. Chuck Palumbo

This is an... interesting... match. Weird, but interesting. Palumbo shoves Punk in the face before the bell even rings. Both men throw up their dukes before a test of strength, which Palumbo easily wins shoving Punk into the corner. Punk gets the largest pop of anyone tonight from the crowd. Punk tries a go-behind and Palumbo just pushes him backwards into the ropes. The ref Mike Posey has to warn both men to get out of the corner, but has a hard time making them break. Scoop slam and a series of kicks by Punk, including a round kick right to the head. Tazz carries the bulk of the announcing duties here, calling his style muay thai. Palumbo unloads with a clothesline and spears Punk into the corner, then stomps on him for good measure. He pulls him back up by the hair for a side slam and a two count. Palumbo tries to choke Punk out, Punk fights back to his feet as the crowd chants, but Palumbo just throws him into the corner formore of a beating. Big right hands by Palumbo and morekicks. Posey keeps throwing rights in the corner, ignoring the ref's warning, and finally he calls for the bell. WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: CM PUNK.

Great. Way to make Punk look like a chode - you're Money in the Bank champion wins by getting the crap beat out of him. To further emphasize the point Palumbo leaves him laid out with a stiff clothesline before his music plays. Does ANYBODY in their right blessed mind think that Palumbo is ever getting over to the degree that Punk is RIGHT NOW - wait, don't answer, I'll tell you the answer - NO. This is a waste of time. WWE Mobile presents a replay of events from last night's Raw including Regal's coronation, Kennedy's interruption, and Regal taking Raw off the air in frustration during the title match later on. Commercial.

Adamle says next week is the 100th episode of ECW on Sci-Fi, and Tazz says that next week that Colin Delaney gets a match against Armando Estrada where if he wins he gets a contract. Apparently we'll also get an "Extreme Rules" match between Tommy Dreamer and Mike Knox next week. Time for our main event!

* Bam Neely & Chavo Guerrero v. Kane (non-title handicap match)

As Guerrero and Neely are coming out, Tazz discusses the the match from Backlash with Adamle. For no apparent reason Adamle stops speaking in mid-sentence, puts his headset down, and walks away off camera as Tazz says "Mike, where are you going, Mike!" He appears to leave through the crowd. Kane's pyro hits and he comes down to the ring. Chavo starts the match and gets socked right in the face for his trouble, before being whipped to the corner hard. Neely stays on the outside, apparently waiting for a tag, and Chavo gets pummeled mercilessly in the process. Finally Neely grabs Chavo's leg and pulls him to the outside to save him from a further beating, and the announce table is completely silent about it as we go to commercial.

We come back and Chavo finally ducks a blow from Kane and hits a dropkick to the knee before tagging in Neely. There's still no comment from the announce table - not Tazz, not Adamle, nothing. Chavo tries to hit an illegal blow to the back but it doesn't slow Kane down that much. Neely gets warned for punches and Chavo tries to do some damage while the ref isn't looking. Chavo finally gets tagged in but gets elevated over the ropes to the floor for his trouble. Absolute silence on the commentary and to be honest it's not hurting the match, I can actually hear the crowd reactions a little better, particularly when Adamle yanks Kane off the apron to the floor. Chavo tags Neely back in a minute or so later and he keeps aiming kicks at the knee. There's some sort of whacky sung crowd chant, but I can't quite make out what it is. Chavo tags in again and works on Kane with punches from the second rope. Kane tries to pick him up but buckles on the bad knee. Chavo comes over to attack him and Kane sits up. Chavo charges but eats a high back bodydrop. Kane charges him in the corner and follows up with a side slam for two, broken up by Neely. Neely tags in again and gets jacked in the jaw, then punched repeatedly in the corner. Charging clothesline and side slam by Kane. Still no commentary. Kane goes to the top rope and delivers a flying punch. Chavo tries to interfere and gets dragged over the ropes then goozled. Neely breaks up the goozle and tags in Chavo who goes for a frogsplash. The frogsplash connects and he hooks the leg for the three count. HANDICAP WINNERS: CHAVO GUERRERO & BAM NEELY.

The two celebrate their win outside the ring as Kane is left on the inside. They walk backward up the ramp mocking Kane as ECW goes off the air, completely without commentary or explanation of what's going on.

I'm pretty sure tazz and mike walking off is an angle. Would they mention it on WWE.com if it wasn't? If it is real, then I really don't know what too say other than FIRE MIKE and bring Styles back.

i too think it's an angle. as of late wwe's rating seem to be at a low and they need to something to bring back viewers. ecw's commentators walking off is one way to get people to tune into ecw to find out what's going on. regal pulling the plug on raw is their way of getting people to tune in the following week to see what's going on. i'm now wondering if something is going to happen on SD. don't want to read any spoilers on that show.

courtesy wwe.com..........
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Tuesday night, ECW announcers Mike Adamle and Tazz removed their headsets and left the broadcast position before the conclusion of ECW on Sci Fi. The event occurred just prior to the evening’s main event Handicap Match, featuring ECW Champion Kane and Chavo Guerrero with Bam Neely.

Adamle and Tazz reportedly exited the arena and marched straight to the parking lot. Adamle was said to look shocked and expressionless as he left.

WWE Superstars were taken aback by this unprecedented occurrence. Calls and texts to both Adamle and Tazz have gone unanswered.

It has been no secret that our traditional ECW fans have not been satisfied with Adamle’s lackluster commentary. Speculation is this could have led to the play by play and color commentator walking off during a WWE broadcast. Did Adamle and Tazz leave of their own volition or were they asked to leave?

The latest development in the Mike Adamle storyline from WWE.com is that they did finally get in touch with Mike Adamle but that he is refusing to comment on the situation where he walked off of ECW. Stay tuned on Tuesday, the 100th episode of ECW on Sci-Fi and find out just where this story is going.

Speaking of ECW, many ECW wrestlers have been told to be at Raw show tomorrow in Toronto. It may even be the entire roster. There's no word yet why

Smile 100th episode!!

We open this show with the voice of Joey Styles, something you'll never hear again, and clips of Rob Van Dam and Sabu, two superstarts you'll never see again. This is like a reminder of how far ECW has gone downhill since it first started airing on Sci-Fi. At least in the early days it still featured a lot of ECW Originals, almost all of whom are gone now other than Guido, Tazz, Big Stevie Cool and Tommy Dreamer. Pyros go off and we're on the air!

The ring announcer says "Please welcome the voice of ECW... Mike Adamle!" Mike comes down to the ring to a chorus of boos and takes a mic. "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, a lot of people have been asking me about what happened last... Tuesday night on ECW and why my sudden departure from the broadcasting table. First of all let me just say in essence, I lost my cool and I need to apologize, #1 to my partner a tremendous individusl wrestler and guy Tazz, I didn't mean to leave you in the lurch. I also apologize to all of you, the great ECW fans." (Booooooo.) "I've been a broadcaster a lot longer than most of you have been alive. I played in the NFL for seven years, covered it for 9 years after that.. blah blah blah blah.. and yes I was the host of American Gladiators. But you know, I had no idea how hard this job was, and how great the ECW fans are. Have I made mistakes - absolutely. I'll be the first one to admit that. I've got a group backstage who aren't shy about letting me know when I screw up. My purpose is to be here tonight to say one I love WWE and that I love being on ECW, and I will do everything in my power to be as professional as I can and bring you the best product that ECW fans deserve. Despise me if you will but enjoy the 100th episode of ECW on Sci-Fi. Thanks for listening!"

Tommy Dreamer's music hits and he's dragging a shopping cart full of PLUNDAH to the ring! Big Stevie Cool himself Steven Richards joins Tazz and Adamle at the commentary position for this match!

* Tommy Dreamer v. Mike Knox (Extreme Rules Match)

Richards reminds us that Dreamer is "the heart and soul of ECW" and if he was talking about the ORIGINAL ECW I'd agree, but the heart and soul of WWECW is more like Mike Knox - jacked up with no place to go. It's only a minute or so before Dreamer and Knox spill to the outside and Knox whacks Dreamer with a baking sheet. Delayed vertical suplex back inside the ring by Knox but he only gets a one count on the cover. Richards gravelly voice is so much better than the dulcet tones of Adamle on commentary, if only because he knows exactly whathe's talking about unlike Mr. NFL. Dreamer dropkicks a trash can into Knox' face and then whacks him with a hockey stick. Back in the ring he breaks a canoe paddle in half over Knox' head. Shopping cart is emptied and thrown into the ring! That backfires for Tommy as Knox slams him on it, but Tommy recovers and knocks Knox into the tree of woe before caning him. He goes outside for the trash can, bonks Knox with it, sets up the can AND the shopping cart, then does his E-C-W dropkick making a trash can sandwich with the cart and Knox' face! Dreamer goes out and brings in a table. This backfires too as he eats a belly to back suplex through the table. Knox covers him for two. Knox goes out and brings in a chair but ends up feeding it to Dreamer. Dreamer tries to DDT him on it but gets a low blow, then Knox DOES THE KNOX onto the chair and it's lights out for Dreamer. WINNER: MIKE KNOX.

That's right, even on the 100th episode, the one they've made such a big deal out of, the "heart of ECW" can't get a win. Adamle makes a bad joke about what shakes like jelly, well Kelly Kelly of course! She's next after these commercial messages, but first it's the ECW ZOMBIE being caned by Sandman. Damn do I miss Sandman!

We return with a promo for Raw next week, promoting Triple H being caught in the middle between William Regal and Randy Orton. Our announcer says up next is KELLY'S EXPOSE and she is in the ring wearing a tight revealing shiny black outfit, which she takes the zipper down on to reveal her assets. As she dances to "Throw it on Me" Layla El comes out and starts doing a dance routine of her own. Kelly shoves her aside and starts again, then Layla does the same. Woo, how exciting. Yay and stuff. This continues for a while until Kelly finally slaps her in the face and they get in a catfight. The loudest boos of the night are heard when the referees pull them apart.

We flash back to September 2006, the 16th episode, where RVD and Hardcore Holly had a fight that split Holly's back open. Commercial.

We're back with more ECW highlights, including the 55th episode on June 26th of last year when Roddy Piper smashed a cake into Matt Striker's face, before being thrown into the ring to face the Boogeyman and have worms dripped into his mouth. For once I have to actually agree with Adamle - the cake alone was good, the worms was overkill on an already good joke. We see clips of Palumbo beating up CM Punk last week. Palumbo is backstage. "CM Punk, you get in my face like that again, I'm knocking you out." That interview was mercifully short given how horrible it was.

Shelton Benjamin's music hits and he makes his way down towards the ring, and since he's not dressed to compete Adamle makes the correct assumption that he's joining the broadcast booth. Kofi Kingston's music hits and fortunately Adamle doesn't make the usual joke, although Benjamin makes one about beating him before Adamle leaves during the middle of another broadcast. Actually somebody DID just spit out the Jamaican Me Crazy line so I spoke too soon, but I wasn't paying attention for a second so I'm not sure who.

* Kofi Kingston v. Matt Striker

Striker actually gets the first cover of the match but it's only a one count. Kofi ducks a clothesline and hits a dropkick to the face. "BO! BO! BO!" Double legdrop. Cover for two. Benjamin puts over Kingston beating him twice as a rare accomplishment. Jamaican buzzsaw connects when Kingston rebounds off a throw into the ropes and Kingston immediately gets the three count. WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON.

Almost before the bell has even rung to signal the end Benjamin is in the ring drilling Kingston's head into the canvas. At least that got a few boos from the crowd, which is more reaction than the match itself got. Colin Delaney is walking backstage and CM Punk leads a round of applause for the kid, as nearly every babyface on the roster cheers him on as he heads towards the ring. Obviously his contract match against Armando Estrada is up next. Judgment Day promo and a commercial break!

Another highlight from the past and this one is from Episode 43, which took place just a couple of days after I was at WrestleMania in Detroit. What's sad is that the match they had on free TV was better than the one I paid to sit ringside and see! Time for our next match.

* Colin Delaney v. Armando Estrada (ECW contract on the line for Delaney)

Estrada is looking quite... WELL... and Adamle puts over the storyline that he was a former heavyweight champion in Cuba. The bell rings as Estrada smiles, flexes his biceps, and poses to show off his abs. Delaney tries to get a cover right away to no avail, as Estrada puts him down, slaps him around, yells in his face and gives him a beal all the way across the ring. Lazy cover and Delaney kicks out at two. There's a lackluster "let's go Co-lin" chant, but it's better than no chant at all. Delaney avoids a charging Estrada in the corner and then actually gets in a little offense, wailing on him with rights and hitting a dropkick. It's all for naught as Estrada dumps him through the ropes and then chops him down to the floor. Delaney is pulled up to the apron by his hair but he slides through Estrada's legs and manages to make a quick roll-up for three! WINNER AND RECIPIENT OF AN ECW CONTRACT: COLIN DELANEY~!

Delaney runs around the ring high-fiving everybody before Tazz stops him for an interview. "All those weeks of beatings, this all makes it worth it here. I want to thank everyone who supported me, my mentor Tommy Dreamer, and everybody who's down with me who made me come out here every week. Thank you Tazz, thank you everyone!" He continues high-fiving the fans all the way up the ramp and running around like a giddy child who just got his favorite toy as a Christmas present. Well congratulations kid, you finally got the storyline contract, but more importantly since you already had that contract IRL you got your first win on WWE TV. Smackdown Rebound from last Friday follows with Taker being stripped of the title. Commercial.

Morrison and Miz have joined the announce table when we return. Miz congratulates Adamle on not screwing up their names and Miz gives Tazz a "Chick Magnet" shirt. Adamle asks if there's one for him and Miz says they don't make them in kid sizes.

* Bam Neely & Chavo Guerrero v. CM Punk & Kane

Morrison says since Cinco De Mayo was yesterday who knows if Chavo is in shape for tonight's match. No Kane pyros in the corners even though he comes out last and starts the match first against Neely, clubbing him down. Neely tries to shoot the leg to no avail. Neely tries to kick at the leg and gets punched, clotheslined, and scoop slammed hard. Punk makes the tag and leaps in for a cover. Morrison reminds us he hates everything about Punk, but notes he does know exactly what he's doing in the ring. Neely overpowers him, tags in Chavo and scoop slams him. Chavo tries to leap on him but Punk gets his knees up. Snap suplex by Punk for a one count. The "CM PUNK" crowd chant is among the night's loudest. Chavo shoves him into the corner, Neely tries to interfere, Punk knocks him off the apron to the floor. Chavo charges in and gets elevated over the ropes into his partner, which leads to a commercial break.

We return with a promo for the Twist of Fate - The Matt & Jeff Hardy Story DVD set. Punk is working over the left arm of Neely. Morrison and Miz complain that Adamle didn't introduce them when we came back from break. Knox recovers and tags in Chavo as the tag champs mock Adamle and ask why he doesn't go Jamaic' Someone Crazy. Loud CHA-VO SUCKS chant as he works on Punk and hits a back senton for two. Chinlock applied as Punk winces in pain. Loud CM Punk chant (particularly from the children in the crowd) before Chavo slams his head down hard and tags in Neely, who beats him up some more and covers him for two. Miz says everyone should watch The Dirtsheet on www.WWE.com and thanks The Tazz, who thanks The Miz right back!

Chavo back in again stomping on Punk's chest. Leg hooked for a two count. Chavo punches Kane to draw him in the ring, and as the ref throws him out the two-on-one cheating continues. Neely is tagged back in and Morrison says he was a former border security guard. Maybe that's why Chico Alvarez always calls him THE FENCE. Punk hits a flying clothesline and Neely is dazed. Both men crawl for tags and Punk gets his first! Big boot to Chavo's face and a big back bodydrop. Kane knocks Neely off the apron, dumps Chavo dangerously over the ropes, thankfully he grabs one to save himself. Kane off the top rope to knock Chavo down, but he's grabbing at his knee as he tags in Punk. Muay thai knees by Punk, step up knee in the corner, running bulldog blocked but the enzuguiri not. Neely breaks up the pinfall but Kane throws him off, gives Chavo an uppercut, feeding him to Punk for the G2S. WINNERS: PUNK & KANE.

Miz and Morrison hold up their belts, Punk holds up his briefcase, Adamle thanks us for watching this special 100th episode (which really wasn't that special) and ECW goes off the air.

Arrow ECW on Sci-Fi preview

After picking up a historic win on ECW's 100th Episode, Colin Delaney will at long last sign a contract to become the Land of the Extreme's newest Superstar on the next ECW on SciFi. The persistence and passion has finally paid off for Delaney whose dreams came true after defeating General Manager Armando Estrada. But will the youngster with a small stature, but a big heart, have what it takes to be a success in ECW? How will Delaney match up to his fellow Extreme Superstars? And what will Estrada have in store for Delaney?

ECW Champion Kane joined forces with CM Punk to defeat Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely in tag team action. Mr. Money in the Bank delivered a devastating G.T.S. to Guerrero for the win as WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison looked on. The Big Red Machine and the Straightedge Superstar are an Extreme force when paired together – how will these two Superstars leave their mark in the Land of the Extreme? And when will Punk cash in his Money in the Bank privileges?

Kofi Kingston remains undefeated in ECW action after defeating Matt Striker on Tuesday as Shelton Benjamin offered guest commentary. But after defeating "Your Teacher," Benjamin stormed into the ring to attack Kingston, leaving him face-down on the mat. Has Kingston finally met his match? Will the "Gold Standard" be able to stop the Jamaican Superstar's winning streak?

Finally, Mick Foley will also make his return to ECW and Matt Striker's Classroom next week. What will transpire between the Hardcore Legend and "Your Teacher"? What does the SmackDown color commentator have in store for the Land of the Extreme?

Cool ECW 5-13-08

Sci-Fi originally said "The Beast of Bray Road" was coming up next but that beast must be Colin Delaney, because we see him beating Armando Estrada last week to earn his ECW contract.

Estrada: "Do you have any idea how lucky you are - the odds of you beating me were astronomical. If you thought you were a target before, I'm going to see to it that you are now. Just sign on the dotted line. Second thoughts amigo?" Colin grins and signs the contract. Armando informs him his first official match as an ECW superstar will be against Mike Knox. "Best of luck to you." Instead of seeming scared, Delaney has a quiet look of confidence on his face. Don't question his heart I guess - he's still standing here!

We're live from Grand Rapids, Michigan! Adamle says in Delaney's case you should be careful what you wish for, but he may be speaking about our first competitor tonight as well. Punk no doubt wished to be a top star of professional wrestling, but ever since he won the Money in the Bank briefcase he's been jobbed more than Rey Mysterio when he was the World Champion.

* CM Punk v. The Miz

Morrison accompanies Miz to the entrance ramp and both are carrying their tag belts... but Miz has words with Morrison on the entranceway and apparently tells Morrison he won't be needing his help because Morrison heads to the back. The bell rings and both men strip off their excess accoutrements and head for the center of the ring. Punk gets a waistlock from behind and slams Miz down to the ground as the crowd chants his name. Miz tries to get up and get away and gets brought down again. A third time he gets the ropes for the break but ends up eating a sunset flip into a near fall. Punk with an elbow to the back, whip to the corner, catches Miz trying to put up a boot, but then Miz kicks him with the other boot then grounds him for a pounding. Punk fights his way up with knees and kicks but Miz dropkicks him in the back to slump him across the ropes then dives outside to snap his neck off them. A couple of near falls ensue. Miz with a chinlock and Punk struggles to his feet, fighting out with elbows only to get clubbed in the back.

Miz charges Punk in the corner and splashes him down, but only makes a cover for one. Another chinlock with a knee to the small of Punk's back. This is how low Punk is on the totem pole now - he has to sell for Miz for an entire match. That's not meant as a knock on Miz, just saying the more popular man is taking a beating from EVERYONE. Punk finally starts a comeback with a snap suplex, which leads to a boot to the face of Miz for a near fall. Punk pulls Miz up, Miz tries to bridge a pin, Punk lifts them both out of it, Miz kicks him in the gut but misses with a running knee, Punk tries to hit the Go 2 Sleep but Miz counters out of it for the Reality Check and the pin. WINNER: THE MIZ. Okay it's official - CM Punk is now the weakest man to hold any variation of any title in WWE history. Even Chavo Classic had a better run with the cruiserweight title than this. If there's any wonder why ECW ratings keep going down it's because they keep burying Punk every week. Cherry, Michelle McCool and Kelly Kelly are backstage and Adamle says he has "DIVA FEVAH" before we go to a break. After the break a promo for Judgment Day this Sunday featuring JBL and John Cena.

* Cherry, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly v. Layla, Victoria & Natalya

I'm not sure what the gimmick is lately with WWE putting as many divas in a match at one time as they possibly can. Here's a hint - less is more. Natalya and Victoria take turns beating up Michelle McCool until she hits an armdrag and a boot and gets a quick cover on Victoria. Cherry is tagged in and tries to make a roll up, then starts throwing elbows at Victoria. Victoria escapes under the ropes and Natalya gives Cherry a clothesline. Both Tazz and Adamle point out the toughness of Natalya's pedigree as the daughter of Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart.

Victoria tries to come into the ring and the ref forces her out, so I guess Natalya must have gotten the legal tag earlier. It's just an excuse for Natalya to work on Cherry more behind the ref's back. Victoria finally gets a legal tag and flips herself over the ropes to drop a leg. She goes for the standing moonsault but Cherry gets her knees up and crawls for the tag. Victoria drops an elbow on the back of her head before she can reach Kelly or Michelle. Cherry tries to push her way to the faces but Victoria clubs her down then runs over to the face corner to knock them off the apron. Cherry uses that to turn fortunes and roll up the Victoria when she's not looking for the UNO DOS ADIOS - WINNER: CHERRY AND THE CHER-ETTES.

Backstage Benjamin says that Kofi Kingston is the luckiest man alive, with a horseshoe shoved up where the sun doesn't shine, and he's going to pull it out - or something bizarre to that effect. Kingston gets up in his face and says good luck, and Benjamin shoves him away and says you'd better get up out my interview time, and Kingston shoves him back and into a backstage wall, where Benjamin takes a hard bump to the cement floor and looks pissed about it. Commercial break.

We return from break with a promo for Triple H appearing on the cover of WWE Magazine and Adamle saying that Tazz' shirt looks like a TV test pattern. Both men discuss last night's Raw then preview Triple H v. Randy Orton in a steel cage at Judgment Day. We go back to a flashback from Backlash showing Triple H ending the Era of Orton, even though he vows it's only just begun. From there we move on to Regal explaining the stipulation for their PPV match, with Orton noting he had six months of dominance before he lost to Hunter, and at Judgment Day he'll show exactly why when he gets back his belt. Clips from last night's Raw to end the show with Hunter standing on top of the cage in Detroit. We see Delaney taping up backstage for his upcoming match before we get a video package of all the people who kicked his butt before he earned a contract. Commercial.

Well thanks to that break at least I know which ad reminds me of cutrer's Khali-Zilla song now - it's AutoTrader.com. Apparently Colin Delaney has his own theme music now as he makes his way out to the ring - good for you kid!

* Colin Delaney v. Mike Knox

Before the match begins we see various signs in the crowd like "Delaney's #1 fan" and "Kiss me Punk, it's my birthday." Delaney tries a dropkick to start the match but ends up being clotheslined hard and splashed in the corner by Knox. Knox throws him into the turnbuckle face first and pounds on his back. Mike Does the Knox and gets the three count - it's over in less than a minute. WINNER: MIKE KNOX.

Armando Estrada comes out wearing just a vest and hat with no shirt on. He thanks Knox for the work he did and says Delaney has to face his second official ECW opponent ever - the newest member of the ECW roster - me! "I just signed myself to a very lucrative salary, and my contract had a few more zeroes on it than yours. This is my first official match as an ECW star, referee, do your job, ring the damn bell."

* Armando Estrada v. Colin Delaney

Armando beats him up, herks him up, slams him down hard flat on his back and covers him for three. WINNER: ARMANDO ESTRADA. Blood trickles out of Delaney's nose afterwards as Armando gloats and celebrates. Backstage we see Kane psyching up for his match with John Morrison before we go to a commercial.

After commercial we're promised that the Gold Standard himself Shelton Benjamin will be facing Kofi Kingston. "JAMAICAN ME CRAZY, will he stay undefeated next week!" Morrison comes out and Adamle says something like "twist and kneel, sex appeal" but I'm not rewinding to catch the stupidity of it. Miz accompanies Morrison to the ring - I guess he doesn't mind the extra help in his match against Kane.

* Kane {C} v. John Morrison (Non-Title)

Kane's pyros go off at the top of the stage while Morrison is posing in the ring, and the menacing Kane walks down to the ring with the belt around his waist. Adamle says the Era of Orton might be dead, but you can't beat the Reign of Kane! Morrison bails to the floor so Kane can hit his cornerpost pyros. Morrison tries to get Kane in the corner after the bell to chop down his legs with kicks. No good. Kane gets away with ease and Morrison tries to bail through the ropes. Kane makes sure he's back in quick. Eventually Kane pulls him up by the neck from BEHIND HIS BACK like he's lifting a weight for a bodybuilder exercise, then drops him on his face. It's all Kane as Miz looks on with concern from the outside. Kane grounds Morrison and wraps an arm underneath Morrison's tanned neck for a choke. Morrison fights out and tries to work over Kane's left knee in the ropes. Kane shoves him away and whips him into the corner but Morrison blocks with an elbow and goes after the knee again. Kane misses a clothesline to the corner and Morrison punches the gut. Miz tries to grab Kane's leg from the outside while the ref is distracted, and CM Punk comes down to scare Miz off. Miz goes over to Morrison's corner to give him advice as we go to commercial.

Kane is beating up Morrison as we come back from break. Neckbreaker to Morrison for a two count. Morrison keeps trying to work on the leg with no success. Dropkick to Kane's fae, boot to the gut, climbs to the second rope for punches to the head, Kane throws him off. Same thing, Kane throws him off again. Big boot misses, Morrison chop blocks the left leg and works on it some more. Morrison tries to take Kane down with a dropkick but can only get a one count. No matter how much Morrison works over the leg Kane keeps coming back. He drags Kane to the ringpost and snaps the leg into the pole from the outside. More kicks to the leg with he comes back in until Kane decks him with a punch. Morrison grounds him and Punk tries to send Kane a signal from the outside. Kane gets up and starts unloading on Morrison with punches, clotheslines him in the corner a couple of times, Morrison tries to charge him to no avail as he eats a side slam and gets covered for two. Kane is surprised that he kicked out and goes up to the top rope. Big Red Machine flies! Clothesline connects. Kane holds up a hand to signal it's over, Miz tries to jump to the apron, Punk yanks him back down, Miz whips Punk into the steel steps, Morrison clocks Kane with the belt and then hits a springboard reversal off the ropes to make the cover for three. WINNER: JOHN MORRISON. Miz and Morrison give Kane a beatdown afterwards and Punk is unable to help. Both men pose with the belts as we go off the air.

Default ECW on SCI-FI preview

WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison retained their gold on Sunday at Judgment Day, defeating ECW Champion Kane & CM Punk in Omaha, Neb. The Big Red Monster and Mr. Money in the Bank put forth a valiant effort, but will return to the Land of the Extreme without Tag Team gold. Kane chokeslammed The Miz outside of the ring, but moments after, Morrison delivered a devastating Moonlight Drive to Punk to pick up the win.

Now that The Miz & Morrison have retained their gold, have they seen the last of Kane and Punk? Or will the ECW Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank continue to seek the WWE Tag Team Championship?

ECW's Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin, is determined to end Kofi Kingston's undefeated streak. During an altercation on Tuesday, Kingston wished Benjamin good luck, and then leveled the Gold Standard. Will Benjamin be the Superstar to stop Kingston's winning ways? Or will the Jamaican Superstar continue his hot streak?

Also on ECW on Sci Fi, Colin Delaney experienced a difficult first night as an official member of the active ECW roster. He picked up two brutal losses, one to Mike Knox, the other to ECW General Manager Armando Estrada. Well, at least the youngster had his own entrance music!

How will Delaney handle the Land of the Extreme? Will the youngster find his way back to the winner's circle, or will he once again be the punching bag of his fellow ECW Superstars? Will Knox continue to beat on Delaney, or will Tommy Dreamer emerge by the youngster's side? And now that Estrada is an active member of the ECW roster, how will the GM's strong presence affect Delaney?

Smile ECW show 5-20-08

ECW is on the air! "If ya smelll, YOU'RE FIRED, gimme a HELL YEAH, the entire world is watching!" Armando: "Ladies and gentlemen, in less than two weeks WWE presents One Night Stand, where every match will be contested under extreme rules. With me now are four former ECW champions, one of which will become the #1 contender for the ECW title. Quite simply, at One Night Stand, we'll have an every man for himself Fatal Four-Way Singapore Cane match. I won't make you wait until then to fight it out. Later tonight the four of you will get to show our great fans which will be the favorite at One Night Stand because we'll have a tag team match. On one side the Shaman of Sexy, John Morrison, and he teams with Chavo Guerrero, as they take on Tommy Dreamer, and his partner CM Punk." Punk holds up his MITB case as if it means anything these days, then the opening ECW music and video plays. "DON'T QUESTION MY HEART!"

The fireworks go off in Des Moines, IA! The Miz comes out to the ring with his tag belt on his shoulder as we get a replay OF Judgment Day, where Kane and Punk lost their title shot. If you saw a dork with a JBL = EPIC FAIL~! sign, that was me. Miz: "Please, I have a headache, cause two nights ago at Judgment Day I took a chokeslam on the floor. Despite the concussion, the soreness of my back, the stiff neck, and the constant headaches, I still stand here as one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions. Besides being a champion, a chick magnet, and the co-star of the top rated show on WWE.com, the Dirt Sheet, I am a competitor. So tonight, I'm going to do exactly what my tag team partner will do at One Night Stand, and that is, beat Kane."

* The Miz v. Kane

If Miz thought he had a headache before, wait 'til those pyros from Kane go off. On top of that Kane jacks him in the jaw then gives him a dropkic to the face right after the opening bell. Miz backs Kane into the corner for about half a second before Kane takes control again, then hurks him up behind his back before letting him fall on his face. Kane throws him to the corner but Miz gets a boot up. The offense is short lived though because Kane throws him over the ropes and out to the floor. Miz escapes from a possible scoop slam and shoves Kane into the ringpost. Kane winces and grabs the back of his head as the ref starts the countout, and Miz starts laying boots and forearms to his head when he gets back in after a 4 count.

Miz splashes Kane in the corner and goes for a cover but only gets one. Miz attempts to apply a chinlock but Kane gets back to his feet with relative ease and scoops him for a slam, although he's still selling his head. Whip to the corner for two clotheslines. Side slam, leg hooked, two count. Kane going outside to the top rope, jump off, and the blow connects! Kane holds up a hand to signal that it's all over, Miz staggers into the chokeslam but then fights out of it with elbows. Kane gets mad and starts laying into Miz with right hands and boots, then hangs Miz up in a tree of woe before putting a boot to his throat. Kane goes outside and keeps pulling on Miz' neck from the tree of woe and the ref calls for the bell when he won't break. MIZ WINS BY DQ. Kane gives him a chokeslam after the bell for good measure.

Kane's not done with him yet! The ref flees the ring as Kane comes back in with a steel chair. He wraps it around Miz' neck and goes to the top rope to jump on it but John Morrison runs out from the back and pulls Miz out of the ring before he can do it. Miz' music plays as Morrison drapes the tag belt over the body of his partner, who is laying limply on the ramp and has to be helped to his feet by both Morrison and a referee. A promo for Kofi Kingston v. Shelton Benjamin airs as we go to commercial break.

We come back with a shot of WWE.com as Mike Adamle thanks us all for viewing Judgment Day, and he says it was a "special special night." I admit it was special to be close enough to ringside for Adamle to hear me yell out that he COMPLETELY SUCKS. Kofi Kingston makes his way down to the ring to the strains of S.O.S. as Tazz tells a knock knock joke with "JAMAICAN ME CRAZY" as the punchline. That Cthulhu damned phrase is going to end up on a Kofi Kingston shirt before long.

* Shelton 'Gold Standard' Benjamin v. Kofi 'Jamaican Me Crazy' Kingston

The bell rings and Kofi assumes his whacky arms out stance, Benjamin charges in, ducks under and shoves him to the corner until the ref calls for the clean break. Benjamin clubs his back, decks him with knees and punches along the ropes, attempts to whip him off the ropes and toss him high in the air but Kofi responds with a kick and jumps to the top of his head. Benjamin takes control again though and drops his knee right into the top turnbuckle - which looked like it would LEGIT hurt. Benjamin makes sure to drive the point home by postin
