Either way, I seem to recall a certain Dallas Mavericks team from last year that had 67 wins in a tougher conference and went out in the first round. I also remember another New England sports team that recently dominated the regular season but couldn't get it done when it mattered. The Utah/Lakers matchup in the second round will be pretty telling, Utah has alot of firepower(one of the top offensive teams in the NBA), they've only lost 4 games at home this season and their road woes are really disguise by losing to scrub teams(they've beaten New Orleans, Denver, Lakers, Boston, Detroit, Phoenix on the road). With that said I don't think they have the interior defense to really stop Gasol on the inside, and Kobe always gives us nightmares. |

If I pick with my heart I would want the Pistons or Magic in the East and anyone but the Lakers in the WEST. | |

Boston will probably sweep and their second round opponent will be the Cavs which while not a pushover it's really unlikely that Lebronze catches enuff fire to make it interesting. So the only series where they'll be tested is the ECF. In the West a team like the Lakers have to go through Utah in the second round and probably either Phoenix or San Antonio in the WCF. |

The Celtics had two tough 7 game Series, while the Pistons had a much easier time with their two series. This is going to be a dogfight. Boston does have the home court advantage however, and the Celtics won 2 out of 3 during the regular season. |

A $100 bet for the Lakers wins $40, while a $100 bet on the Spurs wins $220. It's awful tempting to bet on the Defending NBA champions and winner of 3 of the last 5 NBA championships. Should be interesting. |

Celtics have been overrated and pretty much exposed in both series. Sure Atlanta is a better team that their record showed but there's no conveivable way that such a young team should take a 66 win team to a game 7. The Cavaliers are a good defensive team but a one man show on offense and again there's no reasoning for the Celtics struggling to take them out. That series set the NBA back to 10 years ago in terms of basketball evolution. Just horrible on both teams account. Lakers did enuff to get by Utah and it was far closer than most people would have expected(both game 5/6 came down to the wire). San Antonio looked dead after the first two games in New Orleans and the first 3 quarter of Game 3. Duncan looks like he's playing on quicksand which is not to take credit from Chandler who neutralized him but still. Ginobili is just on another level, f!uck all the overrated hoppers like Wade, not only can Manu ball but the guy has pretty much won everything there is to win professionaly(Olympic Gold Medalist, 3 NBA Titles). Parker will probably be shutdown by the Lakers as he has been historically, once you close the driving lanes and take away his teardrop he's pretty much done unless hes jumper is on. Both series should be prett dope. I'm hoping 7 games. |
