| Lovin' it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | AC Milan is OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dislike Arsenal but damn those were 2 brilliant goals and they desirved it, Manu oh well I don't like them but it was a hard fought match. And Fenerbache was awesome. I remember when I lived in Turkey how crazy the fans are there so the whole country must be going crazy today. As a Chelsea fan I'm quite nervous about tomorrows match, chelsea say they are confident but didnt like their confidence too much against tottenham. Let's hope for the best and that mr grant lets cole and lampard or ballack play. |

To see the end of a rossoneri cycle with Maldini playing one of the best matches i've seen for someone his age or not having the opportunity to watch Messi if Barca can go all the way to Moscow. On Milan the writings were on the wall, and they could only bank on was having never lost to an english club at San Siro(Arsenal becomes the first british team to win at the Bernabeu 2 years ago) and the first to beat Milan in a return leg at San Siro for as long as I can remember. Kaka had a couple of nice runs, but was held in check by Flamini for both legs, Pato had a couple of chances and for a teenager the pressure and magnitude of the game didn't seem to have bother him. Pirlo played probably the WORST game I can remember, missing short passes, giving the ball away in key positions, horrible set pieces(all of his corners to the first post, cleared away). The midfield just couldn't really hold it together and control the tempo, nevermind the way Milan relies on their fullbacks, and with Oddo and Maldini, well you can't really expect much. Wenger really surprised me with the 4-5-1 but with Eduardo injured it was better to have Walcott as a substitute with fresh legs for the last stretch. Fabregas' strike came out of nowhere, 5 minutes till extra time and BOOM. Kalac ate it up, and to be fair he probably either mistimed it based on the distance or his vision lane blocked which would explain the late reaction. All things fair, Arsenal brought more danger. I like Zico and he's done a great job at Fener, but Sevilla is a much better team, it's a shame their president is a douche, because for a team mostly compromised of "outcasts"(Kanoute, Luis Fabiano, Poulsen, Palop etc) they really play some of the most dynamic football you'll see in Europe, all those overalping runs from Dani with Navas doubling him, Capel is always a threat on the left, Keita and Poulsen probably two of the best DM's you've never heard off. While most teams would have switched to a defensive formation at halftime and protect the lead they just played to their nature and that ended up costing them. And well.... ![]() Last edited by Captain Beefheart : 03-04-2008 at 09:31 PM. |

| il dolce far niente ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I hate arsenal. They're so antipathetic. Arsene wenger will always be pure evil. I'm nostalgic for anelka just so he gets a big comeback at chelski and some anti-arsenal revenge. You know you mention kanoute, he was actually a west ham débutante! We got relegated with kanoute. THis is how bad glenn roeder was. Last edited by Moshe.. : 03-04-2008 at 10:07 PM. |

| Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't care for Arsenal, hell I don't care for any premier teams altogether, it's a Sopcast league with lots of foreign investment(american mainly). Granted it's really come a long way and the way it's panning out they'll probably surpass la liga in the next ten years, with south american getting more used to the weather and the dynamics changing from just straight physical, fast paced one touch football into a more electic style. Can't really hate on Wenger. Most people wrote him off after the departure of Vieira, Campbell, Pires, Bergkamp, Ljungberg, Henry and of course your fav Cygan! The man stuck to his plan and all of his "calculated" risks have payed off this season except for Van Persie. Of course in all truthness none of these guys with the exception of Walcott are really a product of their youth ranks, but yeah. Kanoute is an abnormality, a Spur outcast, comes out of nowhere and really establishes himself in Sevilla(and even got his revenge by trumping them in the UEFA cup). Make no mistake Sevilla is historically a "small club" and they really have managed themselves quite nicely in the last few seasons, but like Deportivo and Zaragoza, playing in three competitions eventually gets to you. Also the loss of Juande, who's turning the Spurs around if you haven't been paying attention, the pressing philosophy, cutting the outlet before the other team manages to iniciate their offense, is just not as evident as it was last year. | Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Kalac has been rock solid since replacing Dida, even saving points against Fiorentina and keeping an empty net against Arsenal for over 2 hours, before Cesc rilled a low cracker that should have been saved considering the distance but I won't hate. Still for next year it'd be nice to snatch Frey. A youth injection would be a moral boost for the club, but Silvio and Galliani are either stubborn or retarded if they don't think it's the end of a cycle and judging by their post-game comments it would seemed that way. Major reconstruction of the team will be required and i'm not sure Silvio is smart enuff to either spend wisely(ie: not buying Dinho or Drogba) and instead investing wisely. Benzema is a high-risk/great reward player so I would obviously push for him unless it becomes a bidding war. The way the season has unveiled they also need sum added depth. As for losing, people are too set on results, Milan is not only the best european side in the last two decades(Sacchi/Capello era) but probably the most prestigious club aside from Madrid, in the last 5 years alone they've reached 3 CL finals, won two and had some of the best fixtures in the history of the cup(Istanbul final, Depor). | Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think it's shortsighted and downright spoiled to believe a club has sum god given right to always win, and the way sum fans approach this matter would surprise you, and I guess it's natural given history and the expectations. Still shortsighted. Championships are just bragging rights. The only thing I would side with the tifosi, not in an extremist way is that a club is obligated to try their best to put the best team together. There are many things to be thankfull about Silvio(in regards to his management of the club, leaving politics aside), and really if you know their history they were at the bottom of the barell before Sacchi got there and Silvio invested in Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkaard etc. But since Moggligate it seems he's either given up or just in it to make sum pocket change. So in that sense I feel the guy who busts his ass working 9 to 5 to afford a ticket for a Tuestay CL match is due an explanation as to why the club has been so lenient on the transfert market when teams like Manchester, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barca, Madrid haven't. I just don't see old men at Galliani and Berlusconi's changing their mind about things that much. And while I don't like to romanticize sports, it was very clear to anyone watching last night, that the general mood of San Siro was very light in comparison to the past(Ajax, PSV, Lyon, Manchester ties). | Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mourinho would be the last choice if you don't want friction between your coach and upper management. Don't get me wrong, he's resume speaks for itself, and he's very professional(to the point of submitting videos and documents with Barca's virtues and deficiencies without haven't been contacted for the position) or maybe that isn't really that professional since Frank is still the coach but yeah. Milan will go the conservative way and probably pick Lippi who won't squeeze Silvio for fresh blood and will remain happy to collect his last paycheck. A Benzema/Pato pairing, hell Aguero/Pato, only in PES, I doubt Milan has the cojones to pay for Kun's clause. ARGHHH. Oh well, today doesn't feel as s!hitty as last night. And hopefully in three hours Madrid will be out of the picture, doubt it and in theory i'm already dreading the thought of an all english final, and well the spanish teams are the only one's who can prevent that. Tots units fem força. ![]() Last edited by Captain Beefheart : 03-05-2008 at 12:28 PM. |

| Lovin' it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | And Chelsea made it to the quarter finals, 3-0. Great openin by michael ballack, and 2nd goal by lampard. And they showed as soon as they came back that they were not going to be defeated when Kalou made it 3-0. They played very well. If they keep this up we might make it to the final this year. |

You won a game against a team who's starting GK could have very well been your dad, and you're talking about Moscow already? HAHAHHAHA. I didn't really pay much attention to the game, but Olympiakos is a mediocre team. Game was over after 5 minutes when no one manages to close out on Ballack, the rest of the match was a mere formality including the cliche Fat Frank tapper. ![]() |

And erm FC barcelona? If it wasn't for Rijkaard... ![]() Last edited by R@H : 03-06-2008 at 09:59 AM. |

| Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | English teams were so strong last year that Milan put a number on Manchester making them look like a third division team at San Siro and then proceeding to knock out Liverpool in the most cynical fashion? As for Barcelona: a) You don't have any idea about the team it seems. Frank is just the media's scapegoat, true Fergusson apart there's probably no other coach in Europe that really feels his job is save, lose a couple of matches and you'll be questioned. Since the Madrid match he's made all the right decisions, against Atletico at the weekend he decides to rest Messi because there were internal reports that he had sum pains and Frank decided not to risk him. Toure was also had sum nagging injuries so the only option was Edmilson. Well the result was us getting ran out of the Vicente Calderon, and Kun breaking Milito's waist on all of his goals. What follows is the media getting in Frank's case about not starting Leo, obviousy they build a campaign so that he starts against Celtic(even if there wasn't any need for him to start and apart from Dos Santos there's no one that can play that position). And well you saw what happened. It's a no win situation. |

| Lovin' it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lampard, shaves his armpits and his chest, i can't complain. but...frank rijkaard used to be my hero! don't say anything bad about frankie rijkaard. You would understand if you were dutch and living in holland, in 1995... Its strange how rijkaard and benitez and the ac milan managaer are all risking losing their jobs and being replaced by mourinho. Don't get me wrong. I used to be a barcelona suporter and i do think they are the best team in Spain. I actually saw them play at the barca stadium, which is huge! But I'm living in England now and have been a Chelsea fan for quite a while and barcelona is a big threat for them in the champions league Last edited by R@H : 03-06-2008 at 07:45 PM. |

If he wasn't a footballer i'm sure the family would have gotten him a nice sewing machine so he could do alterations osum sum heinous, salmon pink hospital scrub pants. I do like Frank obviously, but the reason you should be a loyal "cule" is this: :50 would make Jocasta wet herself HA! What a smile. BTW it's "Camp Nou", not Barca stadium. ![]() Last edited by Captain Beefheart : 03-06-2008 at 11:09 PM. |
