Default NFL Playoff thread

O.K. guys and gals who are your picks in this years playoffs?

Green Bay and Brett Farve are my sentimental pick, as I would like him to go out with a Super Bowl victory.

I have to think over the other games before I say more on the other teams.

Titans @ Chargers:

This has the potential to be an ugly, ugly game. The Titans have struggled somewhat against the run this season yet they absolutely demolish other teams’ TEs in the passing game. The Chargers entire offense is predicated on Gates and LDT. If the Titans eliminate Rivers’ passing binky and force the Chargers to go to the ground, they stand a puncher’s chance of keeping up on the offensive side. If they can’t contain LDT, they’re teh doomzored.

Chargeers win.

Washington @ Seattle:

Washington over Seattle is the lock of the week, and Washington at Dallas would be one hell of a game. Seattle is at home they play MUCH better at home than on the road this year and historically. Their defense has been a lot better than previous years. They swarm and blitz a lot more, and they've got one of the best (and most underrated)

Toss-up. Washington on a last minute drive.

Jags @ Pit:

Best game of the first round. And I also have the Jags on this one.

Giants @ Tampa:

I've got the Bucs because Eli Manning stinks more than a prisoners butt cheeks.

No matter what anyone thinks there's no justification for taking him with the number one pick. He's lucky the Giants have gone through one of the worst backup QB situations in the league his entire career and he knows he can suck and still keep his job. He sure plays that way.

I have to agree, the only reason that Eli got selected as the number one pick was because of his last name.

I think you're right Mo.

Steelers played crappy the last month and I can't see them changing.

I like Washington because they have a reason to play that motivates them.

Chargers are just playing great ball like last year.

And the Giants will let down after last weeks loss to the Pats.

The Jags really controlled the game early, but they made some mistakes (Garrard forced some bad throws), and they let Pittsburgh and their fans get back in the game and take the lead. Luckily for them, their defense had a nice stop and Garrard redeemed himself by having a big run and managing the end of the game very effectively.

Tomlin probably wishes he had just taken the extra points on those two touchdowns. The rule on that is generally to just take the points unless you absolutely have to go for the 2 pt. conversion. Probably was a rookie coaching mistake in retrospect, but he still had a very good season of coaching.

Jags will have to play much better if they want any shot of beating the Pats though. They looked sloppy at times.

Alright I'm 2-0 so far. That Jacksonville game was to close for me. They were kicking ass in the first half they totally blew up in the second. They where lucky to win that game.

San Diego came back and shut down Titans in that second half, but w/o Gates they are in for trouble next week.

Pitt played better than I thought they would and i did think Washington would win, tho right at that point they choked and coughed up a couple of interceptions.

The biggest surprise was the Giants taking charge and knocking off Tampa...total surprise.

I thought all this weekend's games were worth watching....why can't my Lions get a playoff game.......jeez it would all be much more exciting if they were in...even if they got blow out.

My hats off to the younger Manning i never thought he can win a playoff game on the back of his hands & he did so well done to him...
To me the Changers were never going to lose that the score might say otherwise but they had that in the bag...

A perfect week for me 4-0. I knew Eli wasn't bad enough to lose to TB.

I got that feeling in the second half and i loved that second effort that L.T. gave on that TD leap.

A perfect week for me 4-0.

o.k. o.k. cough up your picks for this week!

Speaking of which:

G.B. over Seattle

N.E. over Jacksonville, tho I'm not impressed with N.E. the last month or so.

San Diego over the Colts

And N.Y. over Dallas, if T.O. doesn't play or Jessica wears out Tony, but the other way around if T.O. plays or Tony leaves Jessica alone.

Here are my picks for this week

Seattle over G.B-The Packers had a flukey season they will lose.
The Pats over The Jags- I can't go against the Pats.
The Colts over S.D- They barely beat the Titans, do they think with that type of first half they
had against the Titans they can beat the Colts.
Dallas over NY- I don't think Eli Manning can get lucky 2 weeks in a row.

Packers/Seahawks: Most interesting matchup. Kearney has been playing out of his mind as well as that Seattle defense. If the Packers do what they have been doing most of the yeaby doing quick slants and setting up play fakes to go deep I could see them putting up points in the board.

Too close to call.

Seahawks 21-17

Dallas/Giants: I don't know if Dallas is sending a smokescreen with T.O and how doubftull his conditioning is for the game. Romo has killed it all year long, it would be a waste if he didn't manage to advance.

Dallas 27-24

Indy/San Diego: Last time they met Peyton threw 6 INTs, SD returned a kick and a punt for TD, Vineteri missed 2 late game Field goals and the colts still only lost by 2. The Colts should won't make the same mistakes.

Indy 34-13.

Pats/Jaguars: The NFL should just simulate this game. No point having to watch 3 hours of a one-sided affair. j/k. The Pats need to score early and often to negate the Jags rushing attack, let Garrad beat them.

Pats 38-20
