I thought for sure GB would blow them away but Eli had a soild game, the defence played great. If the Giants can beat GB why can't they beat the Pats. |

No way does he want to be remembered by that. Plus the Packers are young and should return next year in good shape for another run. Btw is there anyone out there going to give Eli & a giants a chance??? Hello! Here I am! |

Of course there's a good possibility the Pats will orchestrate a blowout in the arizona weather, but I don't think the game is going to go in that direction. Aside from the Pats wideouts vs. the Giants secondary, there are no real mismatches, and these teams match up well. The Giants have to take an early lead and try to dictate the action, if they can manage to squeeze one or two touchdowns instead of 4 field goals everytime they're in the redzone they have a chance. |

And as for Bret Favre......he is the second most over-rated player after Peyton the choke Manning. He should retire. WHy stay around another year? What....so he can go 8-8 next year. He will never have a better chance than he did this year. He didn't even have to go to DAllas.....he had the NFC championship at home and blew it for his team. He is old and the cold got to him. He just isn't a clutch QB as far as I'm concerned. He tries to force too many passes thinking his arm strength will get it done. Go get hopped up on pain pills and steroids Favre your career is done. I wonder how you might have felt if he was in Brady's shoes yesterday(3 INT, 210 yds). Unlike Payton he didn't have the luxury of his defense actually stepping up and saving face for him. You just watch, Brady is going to end up a Bobby Fischer once he doesn't have the best players and the best coach surrounding him. He will go the way of Jim Everett if they ever throw the team out to sea. And I don't really get the Favre hate, yes he's overexposed but blame the media for romantisizing their sport stars. What does he do in the off-season? Retreats away from everything to his quiet home life. It's everyone else that blows everything he does up. | Saddam Disney ![]() | Manning IS over-rated. So what if he won a SB. He has choked away so many big games that he should have won it's ridiculous. The Colts were a double digit home favorite....who played a banged up Chargers team. Rivers and Tpmlinson were out in the last half of the game....and they still couldn't get it done. Manning had the last two drives to come through and as usual he didn't. Just because he finally won a SB....doesn't mean he isn't the crappiest big game quarterback ever. As for Brady's shaky game.....so f ucking what. How many big plays/games/drives has Brady come through on in the playoffs? You won't find a more clutch QB EVER....EVER. |

The defense let the Chargers score at will even with backups. In that sense it shouldn't have come down to a last drive to win a game at home. The 2 INTs were tipped and he threw the last pass to Clark pretty much right in his hands but he couldn't hold on., not to mention that Wayne and Harrison were out for that final play. Brady on the other hand isn't an amorphous cloud who's control is so huge he can actually prevent the Chargers from scoring on what 4 redzone occasions? All resulting in FG's and SD playing from behind all day long. So unless you mean to tell me that Tom Brady is such the goat that he can actually control things which aren't even up to his domain then I could understand the thinking about a two time MPV(correct), and previous TD record holder, plus Superbowl winner being overrated. I've noticed both trends too. The pats just seem to find a way to pull out the close games. As for Farve, I like him. Year in year out he plays and performs. He's no where near as good as he was in the 90's, but i never hear him ***** or complain much or demand to be traded just because his team is lousy. I thought when the Giants missed that last second field goal in regulation that Farve would somehow pull it out in OT....you know storybook like.... Last edited by Ox : 01-22-2008 at 12:38 AM. |
