Top of the lineup with 10 SO's including the Big Sombrero from Utley didn't help. Beckett pitched a gem. No walks, 77% strikes, simply dominant after the first at bat. Pitchers duel in the desert, might savor this moment because after Webb/Zambrano there aren't any ace's left. BTW am I deaf or do the Cubs fans outmatch the Dback fans in thier own ballpark. Sad. Ron Darling/Keith Hernandez are killing it on the call. ![]() Last edited by Captain Beefheart : 10-03-2007 at 11:23 PM. |

Webb had a lot of movement on his pitches and it was odd seeing Snyder having problems handling him. Did anyone notice the fan behind the homeplate flashing sum neon circle? 3 weeks removed from the Pats spygate. That was weird. ![]() Ox: I checked the stream and the signal is delayed by 30 seconds or so, but the quality of the image is great. Last edited by Captain Beefheart : 10-04-2007 at 01:13 AM. |

That was INTENSELY gratifying! A great win for the Indians. That game will be an all-time playoff classic. ![]() Last edited by Captain Beefheart : 10-05-2007 at 10:46 PM. |

We'd run his rear out of town if he played here in the Motor City and rooted against our Tigers. Well A-Rod again was impotent. It's too bad because I do like him and he had a great season...but you should hit in the post season too..... Last edited by Ox : 10-06-2007 at 12:18 AM. |

Cleveland was putting on their best effort in blowing Carmona's start, standing 11 runners in scoring positions in the worst ways you can imagine. The most memorable being Sizemore leading off the 6th with a triple and Cabrera grounding out to the pitcher on the first pitch. Around the 7th inning the Locust started, flies all over the pitching mound and home. It seemed to bother Carmona at first but he pitched on. Bottom of the 8th Jobba walks the first batter(Sizemore?), wild pitch advances runner and a subsequent wild pitch scores Sizemore from third. Tied game. Carmona pitches his way around the 9th and Perez the remainder of the game masterfully I might add. Vizcaino loads the bases again in the bottom, and when it looked like the Indians were going to choke again(thanks to Cabrera), Hafner on 3-2 gets a meatball right down the plate, singles home the winning run. To blame A-Rod for the Yankees dropping these two games is a COP OUT. What did Derek Jeter do in this game? Today the Yankees had 3 hits in 35 at bats. Only Melky hit anything harder than a single. Yesterday they only had 5 hits in 31 at bats. A-Rod had 2 walks and was the only regular with more than 1 at bat that didn't strike out. As I write this Manny hits a walk off against K-Rod. ![]() Last edited by Captain Beefheart : 10-06-2007 at 12:48 AM. |

Jeter was missing in inaction! ![]() A-Rod doesn't deserve the blame that he'll get should the Yanks get swept. He is tho the leader of the team, esp this season, and is the sole reason the Yanks made the playoffs. He carried the team and kept them in contention when the rest of them played crap ball. He needs to step up his game and produce like the leaders do.....witness Pujols last year and Manny this year. Any one agree that Torre is gone if the Yanks go down in the 1st round? As I write this Manny hits a walk off against K-Rod. Speaking of someone leading his team. ![]() If they do win through, Boston/ Cleveland should be a great series. Still haven't gotten in the NL games yet. Anything going on there? |

I was almost surprised their fans weren't throwing trash on the field or something. This team (and this whole organization really) is pathetic. No sunse of urgency, going down on strikes looking. The whole team's situational ABs have been absolutely atrocious since game one. They deserve to lose. Congrats to the D-backs, not only did they sweep, but get 4 days of rest plus starting Webb in game 1 of the NLCS with home field advantage. The powers that be are pulling for the Yanks to come back and get by Cleveland, thereby setting up a Yankee/ Boston series and tv ratings thru the roof, but i say Cleveland ends it in game 3. |

We could be on the verge of history. Rockies D-Backs is going to be a great series. The Rockies winning 17 out of 18 games is a slight indication that they may be hot. If it wasn't for Webb, I would expect them to run through the D-Backs as if the latter were a AAA team. |
