Booker T Quits WWE

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Robert Huffman (King Booker) quit WWE when he was told that he was to be suspended for 60 days, as a punishment to the Signature Pharmacy bust. He was believed to have failed a Wellness Program test before, hence the 60 days suspension instead of 30.

While WWE is still trying to negotiate Huffman's staying with them, they're going on under the impression he's done. The two sides had been having troubles recently, with a major setback being John Laurinaitis' call to go with Florida for a developmental territory - where WWE would start from scratch - instead of going with Booker's already established PWA, which WWE had been loaning wrestlers to. After they made the call to stop that, Booker went to his friends at TNA and booked them for his shows instead, which didn't sit so well with anyone backstage, but they couldn't say much having pulled WWE talent from PWA.

Booker is pretty much set financially and has wanted out of wrestling for a while. At age 42, he's accomplished a lot, and thanks to his hip hop store doing well in Houston, and his two wrestling schools up and running, there's really no need for him to stick around

Wow this sucks. Booker was yet another guy whom I watched wwe for. True I hated the king gimmick, it ran it's course long time ago but there is many gimmicks that sucks.

I hope he doesnt goto TNA. There could be some good feuds involving booker if he does but if he is done with wrestling, be done.

yep it was reported about two days ago that booker t was not happy about various things within the wwe and was thinking of quitting. now he has. i hated the whole king booker thing. but maybe its the best since he was probably going to get buried and forgotten with triple h back. at least in smackdown he had a chance.

I think that he will retire because he's been hinting around at that for some time now. I don't see him going to TNA.

Well stupid TNA didnt announce who their newest signup is. Just that they were going 2 hours now on tv, old news :/

Well according to Jim Ross Booker hasn't quit the WWE yet. I knew there was a reason it wasn't on WWE.com.

I heard he was upset that WWE didn't use his wrestling schools as developmental territories.

If he's still around, they should send him back to Smackdown.

Well according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter there was no truth to Booker quitting. He will indeed return once he serves his 60 day suspension. I think He should return as Booker T and leave his wife at home.

The WWE seems like its going a bit down hill. I still wanted to see John Cena go heel, though. I hope it happens when he comes back.

Well Booker wasn't going to be with the company much longer anyway(heard he was going to retire next year or the year after). They need to bring in Y2J now and not wait.
