Default Suspended Wrestlers Revealed

The following comes from the NY Daily News:

Breaking News
Top WWE names emerge in doping scandal

BY T.J. QUINN

DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER

Thursday, August 30th 2007, 4:27 PM

The WWE was rocked again today, after several of wrestling's top names emerged in the Albany district attorney's probe into a widespread Internet doping scandal.

The wrestling conglomerate based in Stamford announced that it will suspend 10 of its biggest stars for violation of its wellness policy.

Top wrestlers Randy Orton, Charles Haas, Jr., Adam "Edge" Copeland, Robert "Booker T" Huffman, Shane Helms, Mike Bucci, Anthony Carelli, John "Johnny Nitro" Hennigan, Darren "William Regal" Matthews, Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson and Chavo Guerrero were all identified as clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, the site raided by Albany County and Florida law enforcement agencies in February for distributing steroids and other prescription drugs to clients who had not been examined by doctors. The investigation is part of a probe into illegal Internet drug distribution by Albany D.A. David Soares.

The WWE said in a statement that it issued suspension notices based on independent information received from the Albany D.A.

The WWE's announcement comes as members of Congress prepare to investigate steroid use in professional wrestling, as the Daily News reported today.

Two of its recently deceased stars - Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero - also received steroids and other drugs from Signature, as prescribed by Florida physician Gary Brandwein, who has pleaded not guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal diversion of prescription drugs. Benoit murdered his wife and son before killing himself in June and Guerrero died in a Minneapolis hotel in 2005 from heart disease.

Guerrero received the steroids testosterone and nandrolone, along with the estrogen-blocker anastozole, a drug commonly taken by men on steroids to prevent developing breast tissue, Nov. 2, 2005, just 11 days before he died of heart disease.

Guerrero's nephew, Chavo Guerrero, found Guerrero unconscious in the hotel room.

Benoit received steroids from Signature, based on a Brandwein prescription, in February, 2006.

The WWE stars are among the first athletes to face discipline for their part in the nationwide Signature Pharmacy scandal, the Internet steroid ring that has already led to guilty pleas from nine doctors, anti-aging clinic owners and operators. Law enforcement sources have said they expect the names of numerous NFL and Major League Baseball athletes to emerge as well.
Wow that some big names indeed. Sucks Regal is one of them, not surprised by Orton, Edge or Nitro. This is really gonna impact the tv programing

Charlie Haas and Mike Bucci (Simon Dean) are "top stars"? LOLZ. Bucci isn't even an active wrestler anymore. He's a trainer at OVW, right?

well there goes the mr. kennedy is vince's illegitimate son storyline. wow!

and wait with john morrison gone who's the ecw champion. cm punk? oh please don't let it be big daddy v. although all this could allow for lower card and mid card wrestlers to finally come out on top. i'm sure the wwe will still find a way to make things work. they still got rey mysterio on SD, the undertaker will return soon, maybe even sooner now. hopefully. you got the hardys, cena (why wasn't he in this scandal?), cm punk, and of course triple h. who knows next thing you know they'll have to have wrestlers from all brands appearing on all shows just to keep it going. i didn't care for any of the wrestlers on the list. only randy orton was doing fine, charlie haas ( who cares), edge (he's not even on tv at the moment), booker t ( his gimmick was stale and i didn't care either), shane helms (once more i don't care), mike bucci (who?), anthony carelli (?), john morrison (lame and dull), william regal (honestly i never liked the guy, his time as GM was great, but really the show will still go on without him), mr. kennedy (obnoxious and really why was this guy being pushed), chavo (well he had his rematch with mysterio so really who needs him and i never liked that guy either, eddie was better), funaki (uh yeah), and batista (glad to see him gone honestly. i grew tired of seeing him constantly going for the title and never getting it. i won't miss him).

adding**** seems umaga has also been added on the list. what? i don't know about this one for sure but it's just come out.

I think this is Ortons second offense for the same reason, violation. If he is one of the ones suspended again as mention I really dont get why they keep him around. The kid continues to make mistakes time after time. Shitting in a diva's bag, trashing a hotel, bribing a kid with $5 to break his rental cars window.

I admit Orton has bene damn entertaining as of late and he is talented but his off tv role is something to not be proud of and would think wwe would release him for that.

Look at Ariel, she got into a argument with Batista about some comment he made about females in wrestling, she stuck up for the females and was released hours later.

Stupid stupid...

Randy is still around because of his last name and that he works great in the ring. It's a shame how he behaves outside the ring.

If this really is the list then Vince has to end the brand extension NOW because he's gonna need every person he can get to keep the ratings up.

Impressive list, and one I'm sure will get longer as the investigation continues.

Although it is a big LOL to those who want Cena to drop the belt. With everybody being suspended, he's going have to hold the belt until they come back to restart the main event scene. There's pretty much no one left.

John Cena vs. Torrie Wilson at Unforgiven. Book it!

That'd I would pay to see.

He can then do what he does best, lift Torrie and act like she weighs as much as Khali or Show Id laugh. Damn Cena.

Don't forget about Triple H.

As for the Cena VS Torrie match, I put my money on Torrie because she's a better wrestler LOL

Well, say what you might, but Cena's one of the best sellers in the business right now. He'd make Torrie's Stinkface look deadly
