World Cup predictions, thoughts, etc, for June 22

Czech Republic - Italy. Czechs are still missing Koller but the italians didn't do well against the US. I say 1-1.

Ghana - USA. tight game but Ghana will win it 2-1. Ghana and Italy advances from the group.

Croatia - Australia. I don't think the Australians will make it. 2-1 Croatia.

Japan - Brazil. I doubt Japan can play as good against Brazil as they did in the confederations cup. 3-0 Brazil.

Chav Cole get back on the podium, that was a Kawaguchi mess-up.

Ronaldo scored the best goal of the match. Old-school Ronaldo. Nice to see. Still a unift, fat lazy bastard though.

Nice to see Brasil click for a bit. Adriano and Ronaldo does not work at all. Robinho must play all the time and Gilberto Silva in place of Emerson.

3 Yellow card = Sending off in Graham Polls world view.

Nice to see him back to his old ways.

Aussies vs. Italy in the next round. Hmmmmmm Italians looking for revenge against Hiddink? I think so.

USA got robbed again. Czech's got owned big-time.

Has the yellow beast finally woken up? Or was Japan just taylor made for the carioacas to break and show their true beauty.They've tied them last two times they've played each other I believe and teams which rely on counter attacks are always dangerous.

After the first goal I was shell shocked more than anything(my girlfriend was stunned). Brasil at the time was dominating and if it wasn't for Kawaguchi's saves on Robinho, Ronaldo and Juninho it would have been a blowout after the first 25 minutes. Is Dida legally blind? It was one on one but from a tuff angle, he just didn't make an effort. Cicinho made up for his mistake with a perfect header for Ronaldo to finish.

Second half. Domination. Does Parreira keep these changes? Juninho for Ze Roberto, sacrificing ZeRo's "versatility" but giving Ronaldinho more liberty to play as a "free lancer" while Juninho does the organizing. Not to mention the danger on corners/free kicks. Robinho as a support striker so far has given Brasil more danger off the ball than the Adriano pairing. Kaka had his worst game but he's still someone the other team has to worried about.

Ronaldo is Torres with Athletic Madrid. He either scores a stunner or misses an otherwise easy shot(the give and go("jugada de pared" with Ronaldino and the through ball from Robinho which he probably didn't expect).

Robinho shouldn't have expected Ronaldo to run that far for that pass! He looked gassed after 5 steps

Robinho was very unselfish unlike Pippo, altho you can't blame him for that. He was trying to set up Ronaldo and get him closer to Muller's record. In a different scenario he'd probably would have scored it himself.

ESPN obession with #9 is bewildering. We get it, he's "fat", overweight, whatever.

I don't care what happens next with Italy we are among the top16 teams in the world & nobody said we would even win a game let alone make the 2nd-round.
0nto the game *Thank God* for Harry Kewell he was awesome through out the game about time too again what a comeback.
As for Graham Poll the nerd had no idea i've watched Football almost all my life & i've never see a worst ref.
We should have had 2 other pens for a rugby tackle & handball & who can forget the yellow card crap..
0h final point can someone please tell Bruce Arena one his so called easybeats in Australia is in the final -16- where are the USA team?
Thats right on their way home.

All down to Hiddink. Seriously the guy is a genius.

With the group of players available to Australia they were the weakest team technically in the group in everything but physical strength. How he has managed to galvanize the group to achieve what they have is a testament to him!

Well rest assured, Australia will now definetely feature in all future World Cups after securing a Asian Confederation place.

Good luck vs. Italy Mo! You gonna need it!

True dat Hiddink is a genius tho our players are not as bad as people think..
& most of the players will only get better under the advice of Guus...
As for the coming match Vs Italy again will go into that game with nobody given us a chance & thats how we like it...
Tho in saying that i know Italy are a top team & we Aussies shouldn't jump up & down to much & i'm just over the moon we have made it this far.

Those Italian ladyboys don't like it physical, Australia are the most physical side in the tournament. Will be a close contest in my opinion, unlikely to be pretty but should be fun to watch!

What did Bruce Arena say about Australia that's got you so upset? Arena took the USA to the final 8 at the last World Cup. It's all about the draw, last time USA's was easy, this time it was the toughest in the field. Good luck to the Aussies, I hope they beat Italy.

To be honest, I liked how the game got out of control- it was like watching one of the old school world cup games, like the battle of santiago, or the Zaire team that didnt understand the rules of defending a free kick

It just needed an introduction from David Coleman, being all British and calling everyone savages

Why do i dislike Bruce Arena?
Well the answer a week or so b4 the draw was made for the finals Bruce was interviewed by ESPN & he was asked which teams he would like to have in his group the teams he mentioned were Trindad & Tobago & Australia cuz he thought they were easybests in draw of 32.
Guess he meant apart from team USA who can play but are a joke in Fifa rankings in the topten.
Tho fifa gotta have them that high to sell it to the us-media otherwise the US just wont care about the World cup & football...
