Default Australia - Japan. USA - Czech Republic. Italy - Ghana. Predictions, thoughts, etc...

Australia - Japan. Will be very interesting to see the Aussies play. Japan is a very good team tho. My bet is 2-1 Japan.

USA - Czech Republic. The Czechs haven't convinced in the preliminaries but they are a better team then the US. I say 2-0 Czech Republic.

Italy - Ghana. Ghana won't have much to say against Italy. Easy win for the Italians. 3-0.

1-0 japan at halftime. that goal should'nt have been allowed tho. two japanese players ran for the ball and one of them hit the aussie goalkeeper. it seems to be irritated on the field. will be an interesting second half.

The goal's fine. The keeper was just messing around.

So want japan to win this.

3-1 Australia. after a big offense by the aussies they finally scored and with only a few minutes left they scored again and on injury time once more. I was very disappointed by the japanese players in the second half. they didn't do anything at all for offense and their defense was pure crap. Brazil will run them over if they play like that.

Open game though. Japan just didn't have the final balls. A bit harsh in the end.

Zico looked GUTTED after the match. Hiddink still keeps his record of never having lost a group stage game.

First goal was perfectly legal considering that Schwarzer came into barge Yanigisawa (?) and just rebounded.

The Japanese keeper was a muppet, delusions of grandeur as he rushed out to take that throw in just after saving the free-kick. Knew Cahill would score, should have been sent off and penalty awarded just afterwards though for the foul on that LB. Australia are a very dirty team in general, not surprising considering the type of players in their team.

Same weak points for Japan again, can't hang onto leads, still can't defend set-pieces and strikers who can't find the net. WTH hell was Takahara doing in that 2-on-1 situation? Easiest pass in the world for Yanigisawa for a shot on goal. Lack of substitutions to freshen up the team also affected them, especially in that heat.

Interesting group. Japan need miracles now. Croatia might be happy with this result. USA-Czechs up next. Let's see how that one goes.

2-0 Czech republic halftime. The czechs let the americans have the ball and they defend very well. They're also very effective in the offense. However Koller got injured in the end and that's the czechs keyplayer. I suspect them to play even more defensive now throughout the second half.
