| Member ![]() | George Clooney released a statement giving his thoughts on Prop 8 -- a ballot proposition that prohibits same-sex couples to marry in the state of California. "This just should invigorate people to get it back on the ballot in 2010 and 2012 and every two years until all people are allowed a basic civil right," the actor said. On Tuesday, California's Supreme Court ruled to acknowledge same-sex marriages officiated in the state prior to Prop 8, but also ruled to uphold the proposition ballot that says "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." Thousands of people protested throughout California on Tuesday after this decision came down. |

Homosexuality isn't normal so I disagree with it being accepted into the association of marriage which is based upon two opposite genders becoming one under the law. If it is passed one day, oh well, but I still will disagree with every aspect of homosexuality. |

| Ya Rly! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I know this is late, but since it's kinda related to the whole controversy surrounding Carrie Prejean and her recent firing, I'll let if fly: LOL @ the protesters. I bet those same tools were the ones who couldn't get off their blogs long enough to vote for the very issue that they were campaigning for. Kinda like how lots of American Idol fans never vote for their favorite because they assume everybody else will. If the majority of people in California really do want gay marriage to be legal, then they have to vote! Until they can back up their words with appropriate actions, then they'll never get the rights they want, and they won't deserve it. As for the former Miss California, I'm sure the politics of her statement regarding gay marriage is definitely a factor here. The official story is she wasn't meeting her contractual obligations, but I'm sure they were just looking for a reason to get rid of her. For the record, I do disagree with her, but I think the media backlash against her was completely out of line and disproportionate to what she actually said. |

But it's one of those places where the law needs to be changed by a judicial review. Having the population vote on a matter of civil law is slightly bizarre Last edited by Moshe..; 06-12-2009 at 01:02 PM.. |
