The theoretical ideology known as communism is a socioeconomic structure that promotes the establishment of a classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production. Utopia is a term for an ideal society. The term was taken from a fictional island in the Atlantic Ocean, written about by Sir Thomas More as the fictional character Raphael Hythloday, as possessing a perfect socio-politico-legal system.
As a theoretical ideology, communism would be close to being utopian, however, as history has shown, practical communism is far from utopian. |
