Yes, there's on in the JLH forum, but this is news. Unless that moderator is willing to have that thread moved, however it relates a bit towards JHL.

Well, I don't have anything new from what you've heard on the news, but today I drove passed by the Fox Studios in West LA and I would estimate about 100+ there in the picketing line. I honked for support.

If I knew Olivia Wilde was there, I would have pulled over and joined them.

She's appearing in the Show "House M.D.", a show which I sometimes rush home to catch, I don't go over 40mph, but that show among other favourites are being affected by this. It might be cut down to less than 15 episodes, like Heroes will be cut down to 11.

Music is all I need, actually. But who doesn't like visual stimulation?

Plus there's DVDs, nothing wrong with favourite shows seen again. Plus there's PBS specials like Nova and Frontline, even if some are repeats.

Olivia was on the picket line? Kewl. I knew about Julia Louis Dreyfuss and Eva Longoria but Olivia is way hotter. Ironic you're all talking about just watching DVDs and vids on the internet while the writers strike... isn't that the cause of the problem royalties wise?

Indeed, it is. I don't see why the companies have such a big stick up their asses that they don't want to give the writers a couple of cents more for these medias that are sold thru new technology. They've earned it.

Same with record companies. They're the ones who get rich and artist get pennies out of it. Which is why Radiohead are now independent. But writer's can't go indie.

There is a thread on this is almost every forum iv been in today, TV, Gossip, Amanda, JLH, Eliza.

Im still for the wirters here, most dont get paid good at all. But those few cents add up. From 0.03 to 0.066 on DVDs, which is one of the things they want, take it from 56 million in compensation that the studios pay to around 130 million in 2008. Most of that will go to those writers who already get paid a ton. The studios also know that the SAG will have very similar demands in a few months when there contract is up.

They also want digital media compensation (for which most digital media makes no profits), some health care issue (I guess for the majority of writers that dont make in the $100,000+), and a for Blu-Ray and HD DVD.
