Hey all -- I found this article really interesting and wanted to share. It has some scary stats about childhood obesity, some of them will really shock you (example: In 1963, the average 10-year-old girl weighed 77 pounds; now she weighs about 88. A 10-year-old boy who was 74 pounds then is now about 85 pounds)! The good news: The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is pledging $500 million to solve the problem. This is the largest amount of money ever directed toward childhood obesity. I used to be a camp counselor and I totally saw this every day -- kids eat so much crap and can sit for hours watching TV or playing video games. It was really sad, actually.
