Good one! I only have three of them as blueprints, but this is better!

The one you do depends on the shirt collar yeah. And the stripy nylon ties in those photos make me want to kill myself. Most of my shirts are best for cross knots. A windsor is traditionally the ultimate sign of cheapo suited downmarketness (at least in england) - we used to do them at school to anger our teachers. But nowadays I can do them so super tight with really thin ungaro ties that it looks just like a beautiful cross knot. I know I am so skillful! They should also explain the most important thing is forming a decent dimple.

You rebel. Take it a step further and call chips "French Fries"!

You live in la. Have you ever been to 'in and out burgers'. Despite the erotically off-putting nomenclature, that place was amazing! You could satisfy henry viii for $2. And unlimited fizzy drink supply! The american dream.

Thread hi-jacked!

I've had the misfortune of being invited by a colleague when I worked at a college in mid January of 2001. My first time. The "fries" are horrid. Thin and bland, no taste whatsoever. Might as well make them out of compressed sawdust.

The size of the burger is well proportioned, but since us Americans want bigger things, people buy more than just one. Have you seen those burgers from Carl's Jr.? It makes me sick just to look at one. Just one can feed a family of four.

The best burger I've had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into is from a local diner called "Dino's Burger", it's owned by a Greek family. Moshe, you wouldn't be caught dead eating there, neither would I, but their burger and Chicken plate is so addicting. Marinated chicken, the spices... to die for. (order for takeaway only)

Reviews of the joint:

And it's true, it's a small patch of ghetto, 2 of the biggest gangs in the U.S. roam there: MS-13 and Eighteen St., but the chicken's worth it.

[on topic:] My colleague only wore a tie once to work.

All my ties are already tied, I just slip them on and tighten them up. I can't go through that crap every morning.

Why would a radio personality need to wear a tie?
We abandoned the coat and tie in the lab in the late sixties. Only management dress up.
In high school we wore uniforms which included a coat and tie. God forbid you ever got caught with one of those clip-on things.

California is always such an adventure. We just saw the ‘in and out’ sign driving along the motorway and had to go in, it was far too well named to miss. My mum was: "there is no way on earth I’m going anywhere near the place!". But I have to say discovering that unlimited fizzy drinks fountain felt a bit like finding the lost city of el dorado. Returned to the car with tales of a land of unimaginable riches! The fountain of eternal youth ect!

I adore those seedy diners. Don’t worry the gangsters won’t touch me since we look like we're straight off the set of the godfather. I really want to go do some more californication, maybe next year. I love the non-seedy diners too, they’re so 1950s retropective. And the waitresses are so all american. And yeah the quantities are too surreal. Have you been to lori’s diner in san fran. I remember ordering a small milkshake and for some reason they come out with a colossal bucket of melted ice-cream. But the best adventure last time was this vegeterian hippy place in castro. We were talking to the hippy waitress and she loves england ect and runs off to kitchen especially to cook us her own organic bread and butter pudding. Then we eventually manage to escape and she refuses to let us pay for anything! Californians are so nice. I just hope when you americans come to england you aren't too horrified by how unfriendly and grumpy we all are.

Because I'm management, I feel I should. I offset it though by wearing Jeans and sneakers

That's the only knot I know and that's from school days... the ties were hideous and wide, except I had a traditional, old style skinny tie, handed down by my sisters. The one and only time I've been "cool".

I have previously had a fondness for the Doctor Martin shoe. Take what you will from that.
Out of interest, what knot is suitable for a school girl?

Don't worry I'm sure you looked cute! And I like transvestites anyway. It's just that for me, if you played a word association game for 'windsor' i'm like -- RIO FERDINAND.

As long as you've stopped with the whole dressing like rio thing nowadays , you're obviously perfectly ok. We don't age much here in england yeah, there's too little sun.
