Thank god my parents had me done, uncircumcised looks disgusting, and you have twice as much to wash, right?. I remember when I was a kid walking through the changing room at a local beach house and saw one. I was horrified that when I got older that's what mine would look like.

Don't get circumcised. You don't need to do it unless you live in a desert. Otherwise it's about as sensible as cutting off your toes! Foreskins are a good thing.

My maternal grandfather was from a family with sephardic jewish descent (they were french speaking running the shipping industry from alexandria). He romanticised his jewish descent endlessly, he was very romantic, and was obsessed with having us grandkids thinking the same, by studying the bible, spinoza and maimonides. And even he thought that circumcision was ridiculous (he was uncircumcised despite coming from alexandria). Now there you go!

Interesting, Moshe, thanks. I would never consider doing that to my son for the reasons you mentioned and many others, the lack of sensitivity being one of them.

well, i read a lot about that, a time ago, when we had that topic at school (You know, muslims and stuff), but I read a bout none-religious cicumzision and it says that there is no cutback for the sex life of a man, and that it´s not true that you would loose your sensitivity then, as it was said for year, cause they mostly did it to reduce masturbation. but they found out that circumzised man have more fun than they expected.

There has been this discussion whether it would be good or not to be circumcised. I think babies shouldn't be circumcised per se. The hygiene argument is a bit weird. What's wrong with having to rinse some extra skin? It doesn't take that much time. It's not like you get too late to meetings having to apologize: "It was because I'm not circumcised, so I needed some extra time for my body hygiene and that's why I'm too late." Never happened to me at least.

It was more a "moral" hygiene that dates back to John Harvey Kellogg (not to be confused with Will Keith Kellogg, his younger brother who founded the conrflakes company) and was thought to prevent masturbation. While it didn't completely succeed in that goal, it can still be seen as outdated. Circumcision makes only sense in cases of phimosis that could not be cured by other means, otherwise it's just unnecessary surgery.

Because they're not as sensitive on the glans. But truth is, it is different from guy to guy how long he lasts. Also male anorgasmia is not a myth. I read on medical boards in threads about late starters (would you have guessed I read threads about virginity?) that some guys said the change from masturbation to real sex caused them to not come at all during the first dozens of times.

When they get anorgasmia from it, it kind of sucks though. I don't see circumcision as means to bring a woman an orgasm. I mean it's not even clear if it would have that effect. So don't think circumcised men are automatically the better lovers. As far as I've heard it. Being responsive, having body control and practising is what leads to both having an orgasm.
