Many moons ago I needed it a lot. Now, once or twice a year...ususally once. Damn, I remember in the 80's and early 90's I could name you just about all the "Actresses" names. Now, Not even sure who they are.

People get off on a variety of things, both mundane and outrageous, and pornography caters to that.

It is okay to be sexually aroused! Even by the things which have been deemed verboten! If someone gets off watching student and a teacher together, then thank grodd they have an outlet that caters to their sexuality, lest they become repressed and confused about it.

In fact, pornography doesn't normalize these aspects of society because they are normal. They are real. If pornography ended tonight, there would still be racism tomorrow. There would still be objectification next week. There would still be women who like to get tied up and spanked into next year.

Pornography, for a variety of reasons, can be a mirror into the most dark biological impulses within. Some may look at it and see it as the erosion of societal mores through an implied normalization of taboos. Ohters may look at pornography and see it as an abomination to God. It's none of those things. It is a film or set of still pictures of people f!ucking. You impose your own hang ups on it, and that speaks mainly of your own constitution, not of some absolute value for pornography.

I think she means erotica through text. I hate to admit it, but William Burroughs' writing sometimes gets me excited. That's part of why I love it so much, cause I can go from horny to completely and utterly disgusted/terrified in one paragraph.

And on another note if you're so repulsed by porn. Are you able to understand that marketing for cosmetics and clothing/lingerie creates an unrealistic and unhealthy ideal of beauty and body type for women, even tho no one is forcing them to buy certain kinds of make-up or clothes, and even though wanting nice make-up and clothing is not a bad thing?
