I'll admit South Africa is doing relatively well but why is it that most of the continent is in such a crappy state? Colonialism? No, plenty of other places got colonised but do far better now. |

The biggest I think is corruption. The second is problems have went on without getting addressed for so long that they have become bigger then anyone can handle. There is zero infrastructure to use in order to improve things. And because life is so bad there and so cheap that the littlest things so important making it easy for the developed countries to take advantage, almost nothing of worth goes into Africa in comparison of what comes out. Nigeria and some other countries should be well off due to finite resources like diamonds and oil. They're not really using those resources well unless they're responsible for the kidnappings. ;P |

Those countries in the middle east with a lot of corruption arnt doing to well ether. Youll generaly see the greater % of corruption a country has the worse off the country is. Diamond prices are set, there worth nothing as a resource. Very few countries who have lots of oil use the resource well with the exception of maybe the US and Norway.
