Online Dating Services Don't Work

I am posting this for single guy's here so they won't make the same mistake I did. I joined one a few weeks back and I got nothing. I sent out like 20 messages to different women online and no replies. The thing that pisses me off this that I wasted 40 bucks just sending these messages. I am going to use what credits I have left than I'm done. What a waste of money.

yeah i could have told you that without wasting money on a dating site.

of course, the reason they're stuipd and dont work is not "i sent outmany messages and got no responses".

make sure you never take my advice. you might end up with a girlfriend.

I guess you have to get lucky just like always. My freind used one. He meet a girl though it but really didnt like her. While they where going out he meet one of her freinds. So he went out with the freind and has been for 18 months.

Im not good at finding girlfreinds, I have been out a few times but havent had a real girlfreind in a while.

I don't see why online dating services shouldn't work. It's possible that edawg99 was just unlucky. Although I didn't use a dating service, I did meet my wife online, through a message board we both used to post on, before it had to be taken down permanently because of something I may or may not have done/said/suggested. Whatever. Anyway. This isn't about me.

they end in disaster for the same reasons meeting people in real life often ends in disaster: many people are lying irresponsible selfish scum who think things will just happen, magically, without any effort.

A simple list of qulities and atributes of a person doesnt mean youll like them. People will wait for 100 messages to find someone perfect and even then they really know nothing about them.

Here's why it doesn't work: gender ratio. In the younger of people up to 30, the males outnumber the females by five to 20 times (source Shyness & Love, Dr. B. Gilmartin). That is mainly because many men seek their partners significantly younger than themselves only makes matters worse (like having the men between 20 and 40 get the women between 18 and 30). So there's more lonely men that consider a dating service than women. In a try to defuse this problem many dating organisations require the minimum age of participating men to higher (21 or 24 for instance) than those of women (18) and have the service being more expensive for men than for women. In the upper age range it's the other way around. There is a surplus in women.

only pathetic loserish men resort to online dating. just how it is. real men dont have to paint a pretty picture over the intor-net to get dates. they stand outside, rip a fart, and wait while the women flock to him, only to be rejected at once.

EDT: yeah, that probably wasnt helpful. the "youll find someone when you least expect it" line might be a load of crap, but its got something of a point. Just talking to women, without expectations of anything- just being friendly.. if something happens like that, its a lot more likely to be something good than if youre only interested in finding someone, because, y'know, itll actually be based on the two of you liking eachother, and not just looking at a goal.

okay edawg99, let us get this straight. it's not about the dating service, it's never about the dating service. thousands of people found their love of their lives through those things. i think the main problem is you/your point of view in life. do you remember the thread Yesenia started in whatever? the one about goals you want to archieve in life? do you remember you saying you dont have any, you just take life by the day? DINGDONG thats it. girls want ambitious guys, guys with dreams and ideals. you say you dont have any, i guess thats where she lost interest.
