Everyone at the local bar were confident that the bartender was the strongest man in the Valley. They were so sure, they had a bar room test. The winner would win a thousand dollars. The bartender would squeeze a lemon until all the juice ran into a glass, and hand the lemon to a patron. Anyone who could squeeze one more drop of juice out of the lemon would win the money. Over the year, many people tried, but failed. Typical "Strong men" (weight-lifters, truck drivers, etc.) could not beat the local bartender. One day Jonny came into the bar. He inquired about the lemon & glass. Timidly Jonny says "I'd like to try the bet" After the laughter died down, the bartender said OK, grabbed a fresh lemon, and squeezed away. Then he handed the wrinkled remains to Jonny. To the crowd's amazement, thier laughter turned to total silence as Jonny clenched his fist around the lemon and six drops fell into the glass. As the crowd cheered, the bartender paid the $1000, and asked Jonny "What do you do for a living? Are you a lumberjack, a weight-lifter, trucker or what?" To which Jonny replied "Nope........I work for the IRS." Attention to this translation BW. These words are very difficult. ![]() And I know you are online right now! ![]() Last edited by Val : 05-10-2006 at 09:30 PM. |
