It's a 1978 VW Fusca.

I got him by 300 reais. More or less, 120 dollars.

In the future, with a little more than 3000 reais, more or less 1300 dollars, this VW will look like this one:



hehehe ... this one of the pic is oldest. This VW is a 1976 with a 1.8 turbo engine from Audi A3!

Oh dear. It's pretty shabby. Do you have the place to keep it? And more so, do you think it's realistic to restore it with investments of about only 1300 dollars?

If I'd see that dark blue one here - shiny as it looks - and the owner told by he made it out of one like yours, I'd estimate the he would have invested hundrets of hours and spent about 20000 to 30000 € (half of which on the rims).

I hope I'm wrong though. Maybe you have much time and parts are cheaper in Brazil. I mean after all there have been a lot of Käfer (that's what we call them - singular and plural is the same word) produced in Brazil, so it's probably possible to get spare parts cheaply.

Car is my hobby Samson, you know!
I have in my garage many car parts from the beginning of my life to cars. I had 4 cars since my 18's:

a 1994 Uno turno 1.4,



a 1995 Kadett GSi 2.0 MPFI (my best car)



a 2002 Golf GTi



and my current Vectra.

In these years, my friends and I got lots of car parts and the maintence is more or less cheap between friends.
With more or less 1500 dollars, I'll transform that VW in a new car.
